Paradox very rarely change stuff like this unfortunately. Even in their newer games (apart from Victoria) the region is weirdly represented.
As I agree that India is rather lacking in the game (a CoT in Kutch, really?) I made a mod to adjust the region
It has Sikh religion, loads of new provinces and I've removed nonexisting towns, etc (and moved the Himalayas that unfortunately are shown going through Delhi). Unfortunately again I haven't yet released a DW version of the mod though (when I do it will include touch ups to north Africa, the Balkans and Turkey as well). When I do release I'd be very interested in more input for Sikh history should you want to contribute. When redoing the history for 400 years it's hard to pay attention to every detail (as I'm sure paradox would agree) and I could probably use more details on the Sikh expansion.
I should add that plenty of other mods (that unlike mine have DW versions) add in Sikhism and change much about India in general. If you're interested they're all in the mod forums.
