What are the evidences? Do you know that Irl sometimes i give Johan my account to post from home. Did you know that that Blue Emu?
Well, I've been visiting Johan's home and have personally seen him use his Balor-account.
Is that evidence enough?

That's not quite what I inferred. I only meant that if you are going to post a complaint about a game on these forums - why not make it polite or at least somewhat civil and not too hard to read. It ought to enhance the chances of someone taking the complaints seriously and maybe even do something about it.
Voting with our feet (or money) is entirely up to each and every one of us and has nothing at all to do with being polite or not.

It seems to me that PI should make the release as bug free and workable as they can get it.
With the vast majority of products, "if the [product] does not work as expected or advertised, the end user" gets a refund! Or gets an up-front, hands in the air apology. Or maybe gets their "free" sprite packs, in spite of having an @ in their GG username. Or gets some sort of compensation, either in terms of exchange or some sort of voucher.
Beta Testers were too few.
We're working on it.
We don't control Gamersgate.
I've worked in service industries in England. My brother works in the computer games industry in America. Based on his experience and mine, in two countries, one thing seems shared:
Bad business is bad business.
I was the main beta tester for most of the development of Magna Mundi for EUIII. In the beginning, I was the only beta tester. I'm not the most methodical person you'll meet, and my knowledge of early European history had to grow from a fairly infantile level. But it doesn't take a genius to spot glaring balance and gameplay issues. I have been concerned reading that beta-testers couldn't play a whole campaign without revisions being released. Playing a whole game is absolutely necessary to understanding many changes made, which in the short-term might seem insignificant.
My impression, based on public and private conversations, is that many modders are MUCH more open to feedback than are PI. Granted, that was in the context of EUIII, but my impression is that the new so-called "sandbox" philosophy, which was initiated in EUIII, is precisely the same sort of design which features in HoI3. And many of the criticisms about lack of historicism are falling on the same deaf ears which they encountered in EUIII.
Which of course gets defended with the remark, "Yes, it covers mostly European history from 1936 to 1948, in which one of the main scenarios starts on 1 September 1939, but IT'S NOT A WORLD WAR TWO SIMULATOR."
Arg.
Freedom of speech allows people to be less than polite. What else is there to say? Some people will not be kind in their remarks. Oh no.

The only uncivil posts I have seen have been mostly made by those who believe nothing is wrong with HOI 3 and that it works perfectly when they actively defend an obviously broken game.
Ok, I stand corrected. My impression was that we never had 200 beta testers at any time in the beta but more like 30-40 with some doing alot and others just posting their impressions and a few bugs.
Hate to break into your rant, but they've been offering refunds for a while now.
Really? I had no idea. What are the terms and conditions? Could someone post a link to some info?
Thanks. And apologies for my ignorance, Garak.![]()
Please feel free to interrupt my rants anytime.
I choose to interrupt your rant by asking why you have the official scientific name of the common domesticated ferret in your signature...
...
only because I think Mustela Nivalis is cuter.
I know they are offering refunds, unfortunately, I'm not sure where the info is.
However, Paradox never really seems to finish some games. EU3 "Complete" apparently wasn't, as there is yet another expansion pack you can buy. Even EU2 recently came out with an expansion pack/redo. But maybe that's better than just abandoning a game, as seems the case with Crusader Kings.
As someone who's friends with someone who was a professional game tester, let me say that every single issue raised by the community is raised by play testers, it's just a matter of how much the programmers care about eliminating things before release, as well as financial things etc.
Paradox itself may be a company but it still has people working for it. How would you feel if you had worked practically non-stop for 18 months on a single project only to receive constant criticism for it, no matter what you tried to do improve that project after it's release. I agree that the game in version 1.0 was not particularly great, despite having some very impressive aspects. Version 1.3 however is much improved, as I am certain 1.4 will be. It seems to me that some people here just enjoy creating arrogant and incendiary posts and won't be happy until every single change they demand is implemented, no matter how time-consuming or ridiculous those changes may be.
