So I noticed in the stream last week that Psionic Armies appear to have had a small buff in their health, 350, up from 250 is what I believe it used to be. And likewise, the Gene Army had been nerfed to only have 400 Health and 400 Morale, making it only just a bit stronger than the Psionic Army. I like that Stellaris is slowly developing this splitting at the top of the food chain, where Gene Armies ar eno longer the be all end all of land combat, but other niche armies are being buffed (perhaps Xenomorph Armies as well?) and the spread of soldier strength is being evened out a bit.

But what I wanted to specifically address, or rather request, is that I would like to see Psionic Armies being used just as much at home as abroad. I think it would be really flavorful if Psionic armies also got a buff to negating unrest on the planet they are stationed on. Perhaps this is already in the game and stronger armies will reduce unrest by more than weaker armies (which they really should because that just makes sense) but if not then maybe that is something that Psionic Armies can specialize in to make up for their slightly lower health. I would not mind Psionic Armies being, even second rate, if they could provide me with -10 or -15 unrest on the planet surface. I think that would help to add flavor to the Psionic path and the uniqueness of its technology. I love the way Stellaris is making every branching path more and more unique with its own play-styles, and I really hope that this will continue in the future!
