my friend yesterday got himself a psi ascension...and i have to say i'm(we're both) in love with it. it has a nice flavor, new events, shroud...and lots of cool stuff. (shroud avatars and end of time FTW!)

but after that i'm a bit disappointing in other paths. they seem so...lacking in comparison.
maybe i've missed something?
can anyone tell me if i've missed something interesting in bio or robot paths?

Synthethic is the ultimate macro path, since you select the perks (2 times) complete a single special project (2 times) and then get significant ressource output boosts across the board and an extremely efficient (consumer/food consumption wise) population.

Biologic is the ultimate micro path, where you can go full nuts and turn different species, or even members of the same species on a per-planet basis, into the ultimate specialists for a given area, outclassing synthethic boni by a fair bit. However, it's also a messy clickfest of aquiring Genetic Techs in between perks and constantly starting biomodding special projects. But it synergizes well with slaves (Delicious & Nerve-Stapled traits) and can, with the proper investment, yield the most powerful results, stat-wise.

Psionics is the ultimate fluff path, with tons of exploration, uncertainities, random boosts and buffs and a mild static stat boost for your Psionic Species.

Of course, if you play the game for the fluff and explorationary aspect, Psionics will appear a lot more interesting.
But as someone playing for maximume efficiency, it's uncertainity bothers me to no end and I personally prefer the other two :p

unfortunately right now i'm in a mood of playing exclusively HiveMind. so BIO is my only option. and i'm still struggle to find it interesting\useful enough to waste 2 ascension slots on it.
(i play without sectors though and i'm usually busy establishing all my planets. in a last game i had 29 simultaneously. so much fun *__*)
though i'd like to experience PSI myself...later on.

thanks for the answer anyway. it was very informative.
