Yeah, shame as the ethics convergence bug was bothersome, but the crashing is definitely worse. It's a beta, stuff happens and kutgw devs :)

Honestly I wonder how it feels having your daily work as opposed to production put in front of the customers to critique, but we all appreciate getting the opportunity to play with the latest (presumably working) stuff :)

I wasn't have any issues, probs because I started with a new game
It seems, that this Crashes could really have more to Do with old Saves ...

After the extended Beta-Patch, I had Crashes with my old Save (400 Years in the Game), too ...

But, after I've started a New Game - No Crashes (since 60 Years).

I love people who grab one anecdote then apply that to some general fact about the situation.

"My game didn't crash for 10 years, must be this exact thing I did is fine"

"My game crashed at year 3, this exact thing I did is the only way there is a problem"

I nearly submitted a bug report saying "clicking on colony ship crashes the game", because that was what I did moments before it crashed twice in a row. But I tried it once more to be sure and it didn't happen again because I left the game paused that time.

I'm curious what causes people's divergence to become so radical. My homeworld had -5% ethics divergence and the only differences that happened were pops either switching from fanatic materialist to fanatic individualist or keeping both at non-fanatic level, which I find to be a reasonable thing rather than a bug.

Ironically no one on my Homeworld have diverged.

But I have a planet with +2.1% Divergence. I am Materialist, Individualist and Xenophile. I have pops dropping Materialist, Becoming fanatic Individualist or Fanatic Xenophiles. I have had one drop Xenophile (Which is not good for my empire if that continues) but I haven't had anyone pick up anything negative to me. YET....

I don't think that should be varying so wildly after 30 years.

And I am not sure how accurate it is but the devs seem to think it is related to Three Ethics Empires.

We got reverted to the ethics bugged beta patch cause a few people were CTD'ing playing with custom races. Ethics are going to be iffy till we get a fix that is kosher with the few.

Maybe try using Conformist until divergence gets patched...

Even conformists can get this issue though. And also with the two/three ethos issue. Without conformists it even can get as bad as people on the homeworld haveing developed a different ethos by the time of the 2nd or thrid colony ship.

Funny enough though in other games its not as bad. Haven't yet managed to understand it. Nowadays I just try to keep them happy enough that it doesn't matter that much.

I saw Wiz say this on Twitter but there are multiple reports (mine included) in the thread on the Bug forum where the same issue is showing up for empires with only 2 ethos.
That's the case for me. I have 2 ethos only, but the only changes I'm facing on -divergence planets are fluctuations within my starting ethos (So individualists, fanatic materialists, materialists and fanatic individualists). That's about it.
