I had mostly the same horrible 1.03-experiences as Janster, playing Prussia the other night. I did not even get to create Germany in 1871, had to get a white peace with France as well. My economic yoyo nation could not handle military expenses. Poor taxes ranging from 70 % to 80 % no pop owning anything at all, and rich class getting only 15% to 50% substistence goods even though they had much lower taxes. I suspect that the be a bug and its reported. No money, no private investing or profitable industry. And the expensive machine part factory could only pay off good money for some years, then it started to yoyo too... I suspect now the automatic work assignment option creates trouble as well, since all of a sudden pops of 700 farmers each were working at the factories. So it was not as fun as it used to be...

What sucks with Prussia is a problem with every other nation too.

The worldmarket doesnt really work. As Prussia sulphur is needed and it SHOULD be available but it isnt.

the WM isn't the problem, it's the darned pops who won't migrat to sulphur money mine prov's,

I'm Austria now and democratic and full citizenship, early game there was some migration to my nation and eventually 2 pops arrived in Linz.

But 5 years later, all migration stopped due to factories everywhere and the US migration sponge,

so in a nutshell = the pops would rather be at work in an yankee ammunition factory - without supply then in an Austrian mine that makes sulphur,

both goverment democratic, full citizenship and secularised

Another specific question on the German Unification event (that I actually managed to start now): Soon before the war against France started, the "Norddeutsche Bund" came into existance (ironically with Bavaria being the only noteworthy member after I almost totally annexed Hannover). Great, I thought, and made them a puppet when the respective event appeared. But now that I have smashed France and triggered the Unification Event, the NDB is the only faction not to join the new nationstate!
Where's my fault, what do I have to correct the next time I play?

I suspect the Norddeutsche Federation should not exist and you have to win some territories from France, then Germany would unify. Am I right?

Assuming that's the north german federation, they do have an event to join germany, but there is a slight change they could refuse. If you have a save just before you united Germany load it and see what happens.
