Dear Comrades, it was with a heavy heart that I found myself unable to continue the golrious tale of the great Texan Revolution a couple months ago. But now, with my tenure in my job ending, and a couple months of free time before returning to school, I have decided to resume this AAR. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the original thread, so I'm starting a new one.

Officially, the Texan Revolution has resumed! The tale of the glorious struggle of the Texan Proletariat and their American bretheren continues! I've just got to get my screen shots in order, and the Revolution will see new life!

The first new update (Communism! Castro! Cuba!) will be forthcoming on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 in the afternoon or evening, US Pacific Standard Time. Since it's been a while, let's recap the action thus far:

-A Revolution of Workers and Laborers overthrew the corrupt, capitalist regime of the 'elected' governer of Texas and his legislature. The Revolution is led by Vincent I. Lennon, AKA Vladimir I. Lenin, who got lost while on extended vacation. He's assisted by a group of misfits who become his cabinet and/or field commanders.
-Though his mind and resolve were strong, Lennon's body was weak, and so his brain had to be transplanted into a new body. The surgery, performed by Dr. Victor Frankenstein IV - a Swiss dentist - was a success. However, Lennon's new body was that of a young woman in a Japanese schoolgirl's uniform. Henceforth, the great leader of the Proletariat was known as Vicky I. Lennon.
-With supplies and arms from the Soviet Union, among other sources, the People's Republic of Texas set out to make itself a regional power for the benefit of the working class of the Americas. First came Operation: Whip Mexico, in which Texas finally exacted revenge for the Alamo and annexed Tacoland into the People's Republic. Then, the PRT brought down the kleptocratic regimes of El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama, annexing every one of the 'independent' states into the People's Republic as well.
-When last we left the PRT, Texan eyes were on two things: the newly formed Proletarian Baseball League, formed as a deterrent to poor players from the Americas being lured to play in the United States of Oppression's Major League Baseball, and to the land just east of the growing People's Republic: Cuba.

Yes, I'm back! Thanks everyone for waiting out the troubles I had. And it seems I may have lured in some new readers as well... excellent!

For those who were wondering, yes, all the previously created leaders/ministers/tech teams are still in the PRT. In fact, Air Marshal Miihkali is the first active field commander in the Texan Red Air Force - in charge of those bombers Texas was going to buy with money from the 'Girls of the Revolution Bathing Costume' Calendar.

As for Freedom Rises With the Sun? It may continue, if I can find a way around the 10% dissent hit with every DoW.. there's lots of warlords in China! Maybe gang up on 'em with Chiang Kai-Shek...

He hadn't been in his office, nor in any of the seven different sleeping spots around the barn. He hadn't even been in the top secret super-classified air force archives (which was just a broom closet full of booze and medical supplies). This worried Chuck greatly, because if he couldn't find Filiberto McAndliss, then the man might be anywhere, and there were very few places in this world that could handle Chuck's boss.

Then he heard a rumbling sound followed by a metallic clang. Chuck ran outside and found his boss standing next to a very large tank, polishing the tracks with a rag.

Chuck: What the?

McAndliss: It's a tank Chuck. Left-over from the Mexican army when we won the war, I think. In any case, I got it from this short little man. I think I only had to pay him with a bottle of whiskey. My memory is a little fuzzy. Plus he only spoke Spanish.

Chuck: Why would you get a tank? Do you even know how to drive a tank? I mean, you are an airforce commander (barely). Seriously!

Chuck went back into the barn to find something strong to drink so he could forget all about this. McAndliss looked at the mad private going inside and then just shook his head.

McAndliss: Philistine.

Communism! Castro! Cuba! Texas Makes Progress and Liberates Cuba Fom Oppression!

Yes, Comrades, the irresistable forces of international socialism have continued to move forward after the liberation of central America! With the Proletarian Baseball team's first state-owned clubs being formed, our People's Republic has yet another weapon to wield against the evils of capitalism. No longer will impoverished and exploited young men from the Americas be lured into the capitalist trap of Major League Baseball! Now, they may play for such clubs as the San Antonio Reds, Austin Proletariats, Dallas Trotskys, or Houston Revolution. More clubs are expected to be formed across the People's Republic in the near future.

In other news as well, the might of the Texan working class continues to propel our nation towards a brighter future. Our strong military, one that has brought liberation to millions (more or less) continued to grow in size in recent times. A second motorized infantry division was deployed near the California border to keep an eye on the despicable capitalists there.

Another motorized division arrives, and our Soviet comrades' plot is undone by the United States of Oppression.

Elsewhere, the People's Ministry for Calendar Sales reported that the 'Girls of the Texan Revolution' calendar had exceeded all fundraising goals. In light of this, the money from that fundraising allowed the Red Air Force to purchase its first bombers. Bombers with which to deliver destructive payloads upon the evil capitalists in their havens!

The first bomber wing was named after the fund raising method, approved by our great leader, Comrade Lennon herself.

In related news, chief of the Red Air Force, Comrade McAndiss, completed his research into Dive Bombing! Yet another strategy to assail capitlism with!

More progress on the technological front, despite some 'setbacks'...

Not only in command of the 'Calendar' bombers, Comrade Miihkali begins researching 'Operational Destruction Doctrine'.

Internationally (or should that be Internationale?), socialism triumphed once again, this time in Europe. After months of fighting, the Republican Spanish achieved complete victory over the fascist Nationalists. Supported by both the Soviet Union and the People's Republic, the might of the Spanish workers was too much for the corrupt General Franco! Texan supplies helped them reach this great triumph, for which thanks were given in the form of a boquet of flowers (red of course) sent to Comrade Lennon in her office in Austin.

After much careful preparation, the People's Republic was forced to take action again. Major League Baseball was rumored to be scouting in Cuba, and thereby corrupting the working class players and their families. Unwilling to see this happen, or to allow the Cubans to remain downtrodden under the maniacal Fulgencio Batista, there was only one proper direction to head...

Texan forces quickly landed in the undefended province of Camaguey, where they were greeted as the liberators the truly were. However, Cuban units were positioned in both neighboring provinces. The action was about to begin....

Once in Camaguey, the initial Texan forces took time to reorganize and enjoy the scenery somewhat. However, with bougeois forces in the area, there was little time for sightseeing. The time for rum had ended within hours of the first landings... the time for Revolution had come.

First, Comrade General Guo Zhi Feng led the attack on Guantanamo, with the goal of securing a new major port for the People's Republic...

But the Cuban defenders stood little chance against the stronger, better equipped Proletarians of Texas!

After the victory in Guantanamo, Texan Red Army reinforcements began to arrive, thanks to the tireless efforts of our Red Navy. Amongst the forces were the same People's armored divisions that had toppled the Kleptocracies in central America. Their regular commander, Comrade Field Marshal McClusky, Hero of the People's Republic of Texas, was granted a temporary holiday leave for the Cuban campaign. Comrade Jan Skrzetuski took command of the armored forces in his place, and helped drive them towards the inevitable triumph of the Proletariat...

With sufficient reinforcements, the Red Army rolled forward into the remaining Cuban territory. Headed by Comrade Kasakka, the Texan Red Army attacked into Santa Clara, which was defended only by pathetic capitalist cavalry. Faced with overwhelming Texan working class might, the result was inevitable...

After liberating Santa Clara, our glorious forces marched onward to Havana, defeating the foolish regime loyalists remaining there. Soon, the great liberation was brought to all of Cuba, thanks to the efforts of the Texan Red Armed Forces, and Comrade Lennon, our greatest comrade!

With their capital occupied and the citizenry in support of their Texan liberators, the old Kleptocratic regime of Batista was forced to capitulate. At long last, the people of Cuba were freed from capitalism's cold chains! A bright future awaits them as the newest member state of the People's Republic. And once more, the United States of Oppression raised not a finger to support their fellow capitlist. Once more, they proved themselves to be interested only in self preservation and profit.

The Cuban regime falls to the might of the working class!

In the aftermath, Comrade Lennon issued praise for all the soldiers of the Red Army who fought so tirelessly to liberate Cuba. Even our glorious Red Navy recieved praise, for their efforts to ship forces from the mainland to Cuba, risking destruction should any enemy vessel with guns appear. Plans to expand the Red Navy have been discussed, in order to further deter our hostile northern neighbors.

After the Cuban campaign, comrade Fidel Castro came to Texas in order to join our glorious Proletarian Baseball League. He agreed to play for the Dallas Trostskys, and is expected to be their starting pitcher for an exhibition match yet to be scheduled.

In other news, Texan research continued to march towards the future as well, opening a third research slot for the people!

As we enter 1937, the accomplishments of the People's Republic of Texas and the Texan Proletariat are many. Most of all, our glorious People's Republic now is the third largest nation in the Americas! More or less, at least. Whatever we choose to undertake next, the iron will of the working class shall guide us to victory!
