Trying a brave new format...
OPERATION: SPRINGBOARD
And so, on Lennon's orders, the Texan Red armed forces began Operation: Springboard. It's goal: to liberate the workers of the Dominican Republic and Haiti, and to provide the People's Republic with a strategic base even closer to its next objective.
On March 29, 1937, the People's Republic of Texas took the first step towards its greater goals....
Immediately, an invasion force - using Texas' only naval vessels in operation - was dispatched to secure the landing beaches in Santiago. They arrived on April 3, landing unopposed as planned. However, the strangest thing happened... the Dominican army, thought to be all of one unit, was missing. The road to Santo Domingo and victory over the Dominican Republic was unhindered!

Before a full investigation into the Dominican army's whereabouts could be launched, Texan Intelligence caught word of a nefarious capitalist plot in Europe. It was, however, unsuccessful.
And soon enough, the enemy force surfaced in an unlikely place: Cuba. The foremost military genius in the Dominican Republic had decided that rather than defend the capital, its army would invade Texan-held territory.
While dubious in its intention, the move was unexpected by the Texan Red Army, which quickly moved to counter the sudden invasion...
The attack on Guantanamo stemmed, the Texan Red Army's forces on Hispanola rolled forward unopposed. It was only a matter of travelling time before the Dominican Republic's regime was overthrown, and the land joined with the People's Republic of Texas. The Dominican army, without a country to go back to, surrendered to the Red Army. And there was much rejoicing.
