Dear community,

i am playing HoI-DH 1.03 in multiplayer with a own mod (mainly misc-modifier changes) for a "better" game expierence... nevertheless there is one thing which still disturbs me and i dont know how to mod it. I am talking about province infrastructur getting too much damage when getting conquered (reduced by half?) this causes that some provinces after switching owner several times have almost no infrastructure and causing a very static, non-dynamic frontline.

in my current GER vs SOV - MP no one is making real progress because of that... so does anyone know how to mod this?

thx for any help!

From what ive seen on this subject, there is no real way to change what you are asking for. A province's infrastructure will suffer from combat in it, and capturing it will indeed reduce it. I have seen provinces turning from 60 percento to 1.2 percent after 5 battles. This is WAD as far as i know, and unless changing core files i doubt you can achieve the effect you desire.

So this is part of core files? i hoped that i could change it that way that for example after 5 battles the infrastructur of a province is at least 10-20% instead of 1.2%! this total damaged infrastructure stops offensives to heavily.

any other idea how to make frontlines more dynamic? for example is it possible to change how fast infrastructure gets repaired? if i remember correclty, there is something in the misc.txt which may influence this?

I would honestly recommend using amphibious assault instead, or even paratroopers, to break the front. Or, as is MP, set an informal truce with the other player for as long as it takes for the infra to reach decent levels. (I'm guessing that setting an area to always be attacked by your units w/o actually advancing is not a viable strategy in MP)

There is a way to deal with the infrastructure destruction, but it will have secondary effects. In the misc file, if you go to the line.
Code:
# Province buildings repair modifier - how fast damaged or just built province buildings will reach max level
   1.0
And change that to let's say 10. The infra should repair itself faster that way, along with any other building (IC, AA, forts, etc). A value of 100 should mostly negate any impact of damaged structures, including infra. Does that work for you?

Other possibility (that I have not tested) would be changing this line:
Code:
# Movement speed modifier to land units in combat
   1.0 #1.0
If I'm reading this right, a number >1 would make attacking troops move faster than normal. It may help making the fronts more dynamic, but may have adverse effects on reinforcements (as in, more difficult to stop a breakthrough with 'reserve' troops).
