Something that came to my mind with reading Sytass' AAR.

In HOI, when you attack a province from an allies territory, that ally gains control of the province. Will things work the same way in Victoria? If Germany attacks Serbia through A-H, does A-H gain control of the german-conquered serbian provinces? Or does it work like EU, "takers-keepers"? It's the latter, right?

We know for sure that the army doesn't instantly take control of a province once it marches in (as was in HOI), but I don't think it's been explicitly answered yet....

More importantly though, is if you conquer a territory with your army and it goes to you.... would you be able to give it to your ally at the peace conference? I really hope there is greater complexity in the peace screen so you can divvy up provinces.

In Systass' AAR, what would happen at the end of his war? He has all of Belgium, yet none of their colonies... does this mean he can annex Belgium? And if so, does he get the colony or is it released as independent? Or .... Patric ! can you answer this yet !

An example i know to this situation is at the end of WWI when Britain, together with revolting Arabs pushed Turks back to Anatolia and gave Syria and Lebanon to French. There were no French troops fighting there during the war, but after the war, they came with their troops and started to govern.

Similar things happened after the Congress of Vienna in 1815.

Another example from Versailles that might be unique in history was where Denmark was awarded German territory even though Denmark hadn't even participated in the war!

What are you talking about? Didn`t they have Schleswig-Holstein before for centuries?

It was not awarded. There were plebescites in North Schleswig and South Schleswig. The northern part, mostly Danish, voted for joining Denmark. The southern part, mostly German, voted for joining Germany. So it happened. Similar happened in Silesia.

Well, as it was already said, the system works a bit different. You enter a province, but it doesn't automatically change color. You have to "restore order" in the province. You have to let a portion of your army sit there in order to take control of the province. So, if German troops stay in any given Balkan province for a long time, they will install their own order there, not A-H's. So, I guess they will take it. I wonder what happens, if a division of A-H's army also stays in the same province and helps with the restoring of order. Maybe Patric would care to elaborate?

On the other hand, once the province is under your control, only you can take over this province completely in a peace treaty. take a look at the Diario de Mexico AAR, where the player makes peace with the Sokotans. In the portion of the box, where provincial demands can be made, there is still a column, which says who owns the province, just like EU2. But, you can always make a seperate deal with A-H later and trade in these provinces for money or maybe for free. I wonde, if the AI would consider such an agreement.

Oh, that's true.. I forgot about the ability to trade provinces ! This is going to be great then ! I hope that your allies and nations who you have high relations with will be more willing to trade provinces....
and that the AI can see which provinces are in its best interest...

So France should be more willing to trade tech/money/other land for say Piedmont or Alsace-Lorraine, or even provinces along the Spanish border.

Giving your ally newly councquered provinces via province trading option is nice alright, but it isnt quite like giving them by peace treaties since this way you get BB penalty for your ally!!

(-I presume BB or something like it stil exists in Vic)
