Mine might be losing a crown to a civil war or plot- then taking it right back a few years later via my own coup.

In the Game of Thrones mod, first time I won the war as Robb Stark, beheading tons of Lannisters, rescuing my sisters, then marching home to slaughter the Greyjoys and restore the Night's Watch. The King in the North! :D

Starting a king of aragon and forming Hispania...then winning an invastion for france was my proudest. Took at least...oh O don't remeber...6-7 generations, but I did it!

...I think it all fell apart however, if I remeber correctly....

Go from being 3-county duke to King of Hungary to Emperor of the HRE in about 20 years, all through war. I love CK2+

Started as count of Perigord, I married my son with daughter of my liege duchess and with my first successful plot ever I killed my liege and my heir inherited duchies of Aquitaine, Bourbon and Gascogne all at once. So, two reasons of being proud: I expanded by nice marriage game and not claim manufacturing, and I succeeded in a plot for the first time. (now I only have a gavelkind problem...)

I have had fruitful kings, and been doing a lot of marrying. And I am truely proud on how well my other branches have done,

So far my family (but not all in the family branches that are under my control ) rules before 1200. (Note, not counting barons or counts, only dukes or higher) I am only giving cadet status if they are ruling as a independent or in a kingdom I do not control. (For example, There is a family branch that controls Munster and wales, but since they are my vassels, they not a cadet branch)

Top line
Ireland-Wales-Scotland-Brittany-Gradanda-Axum(might not of spelled that right)

Cadet line (Galatia line)
1) Kingdom of Galatia
1b) Kingdom of Castile and Leon (Castillian culture)
1c) Kingdom of Navarre
Cedet line (Portugal Line)
2) Kingdom of Portugal (which is a powerful state - half of spain and parts of North Africa)
Cadet line (German Lines)
3a) Duke of Pomerania
3b) Duke of Brandenburg
Cadet line (1st Kingdom of Sicily)
4) Died out from muslim invasion
Cadet line (Duke of orleans)
5) Just vaulted themselves as Kings of France (!!!)
Cadet line (2nd King of Sicily)
6) King of Sicily
Cadet line (Duke of Sicily)
7) Duke of Sicily and Tunis

I am quite proud of how well the family has done, of course, in the next 25-30 years you might see a few of these branches die out.

I got 2 right now.
1st stopping the Timurid, with the help of the GH. (I won my first round just as a 120k doom stack spawned, the broke the truce and dropped 90k onto their last county.)
2nd getting my dynasty sitting on the GH, (stretches to hungry), Lotharingia (includes Germany going east to hungry and kingdom of Aquitaine) Navarra (owns all of the north of Iberia) Frisia (north Germany and most of England) and of course me everything north of GH and Lotharingia .... so my family controls the majority of Europe and i have close relative on most of the rest of the thrones :)

I'm new to this game and forum - I'm in the middle of my second time playing CK2 and I'm loving it. It's amazing. And this game I'm playing has been something else.

Starting in Dublin, my goal was to just plug along and eventually become a vassal to the much bigger Scottish Kingdom, which had conquered the north of Ireland, and whose ruling dynasty I had married into a few times in my history.

But as I tried to take the last county in the south, the Scots declared war on me and easily stole my home county of Dublin. I thought I was screwed. I lost that war, became a vassal of the Scots (which now held all of Ireland except one independent county) and was without Dublin, which I had spent so much money on developing.

Ah, but a few years later a plot began that backed a kinsmen of my bloodline for the Scottish crown. He was an old man with no kids, so I saw an opportunity. When I backed the plot it put us over the edge and the leader declared war. But the Scottish army destroyed us all at first - our first attacks were hammered. The Scottish counties on my side of the civil war feverishly raised as many levies as they could over and over, but they were vastly outnumbered and just chipped away bit by bit of the Scottish army. Scotland got within 2% of winning the war, when I threw nearly all my money at a group of mercenaries who went in and put a huge dent in the Scots. Then I raised my own levies and we all went in and defeated the enemy. Over a while, we eventually took the counties and won the war.

But the old man who became king quickly married and had a son. So I plotted to kill the son and was lucky enough to have his spymaster on my side so it was easy. But the old fart had another son! This one was trickier to deal with and the old man actually died before I could kill his second son. But when the 2 year old became king it became easier to plot against him, so I murdered him too and became King of Scotland. I then created the title King of Ireland and made it my primary title.

Suck it Scots!

Of course, one year into my rule they murdered me and my underaged kid took over. He survived to adulthood though and got married, so I'm hoping he can lead for a while.

Now my eyes have turned to the Kingdom of England, which has been owned by the Norwegians more or less for nearly 200 years. Brittania is next!

It's not much compared to many people's stories, but I would say my proudest moment was the first time I unified the kingdoms of Wales and Ireland under a single leader. That was the first great game I'd had and I was very proud of myself.

Hmm...my current Byzantine game has had quite a few excellent moments. First that come to mind:

- Nurturing vlachs into a little breeding race purely so one would be alive to form the Kingdom of Wallachia.
- Seeing the Doukid dynasty spread over half of Europe, and keeping it that way (Leon, Castille, Poland, Georgia, Hungary, Slesvig...not to mention the titles they held within the empire)
- Using my retinue as World Police, marching across the map to save and spread the Orthodox cause. Brittany one day, Norway the next. (This mostly stems from a sense of shame that Russia was completely swallowed by Tengrists and Muslims before I had the ability to project my power that far. Now I can only look on as the once great Russian Orthodoxy retreats with every passing year.)

Probably goes back to the demo, where I almost united all Christendom with the HRE, using the then-OP Invasion CB. It was a point of pride because I was probably the first non-beta-tester to pull that off, and the fact it was a saveless demo proved I had done it legit when I posted screens at the time. That game also included a pretty awesome deal, where I arranged to raise the heir of Byzantium to be evil/sinful JUST SO the Pope would give me an Invasion CB on them :D Fairly epic stuff.

This is something to be proud of, starting as King of Leon to being crowned Emperor of Hispania.

King of Leon
Castille was usurped by a non-dynastic member, so claimed and won Castille
Pressed Navarra
Because Gavelkind was still in place (I had a couple of Kings that lived very long), brother was King of Galicia who for some reason only had daughters and they didn't have sons! Claimed Galicia from a grand daughter
Portugal was created.
Andalusia gained after a Crusade was called.
Aragon was actually last because most of the counties for some reason came under HRE, tried to fight it before but lost but a window of opportunity opened when Mallorca was independent. Created a claim and created Aragon - just.
Took Cadiz and completed the reconquista at 1207 and crowned Emperor of Hispania - 14 July 1207. :D

I started once as count of those tiny Byzantine Islands in the Duchy of Epirus, plotted my brother's death, thus becoming the largest landholder in the duchy. Constantly weakened by duke by supporting rival claimants, then forged a claim on his title and took over. Then as duke, I invaded Southern Italy, dodged numerous Fatimid jihads, holy warring enough to become King of Sicily, and on of Byzantium's largest vassals. Then I forged a claim on the title of Emperor. I slowly began building the diplomacy skill of my heirs, eventually becoming the emperor's chancellor. Then as luck would have it, the emperor died and I began the regent of his poor beknighted young son. The "acquire the byzantium empire" lit up and as regent my plot power was through the roof (though I did get the Ecumenical Patriach's sanction for role-playing sake) and the boy emperor acquiesced without a murmur. Hadn't plotted my way up to emperor level before, was such a thrill.

You've got to be kidding me? This is EXACTLY what I did in my first Byzantine game after the release of LoR. Well, how I came to the throne was slightly different - I started a faction and lead an all out rebellion to claim the Title, but, still, this was definitely my proudest moment too, going from count of those tiny little islands to Eastern Roman Emperor in just two generations.

My proudest moment... my game as Antioch, where I spent engineered the murder of a bad emperor and put on the throne one with 19 stewardship. He restored the Empire to its former glory and re-conquered large swathes of the middle east, eventually gaining the moniker "The Great."

Then, of course, his successors were worse, causing a massive civil war and a Seljuk Holy War for Antioch. Thinking I'd lost the game, I was unaware that I'd automatically revert to another of my dynasty's holdings, this time the Kommenid Dukes of Alsace, the result of an odd turn of events. But the trouble there was that the Duchy was in an independence faction war, after which they had their lands revoked.

Thinking that I was definitely gone now, to my surprise I awoke as the Bey of Ancyra and Paphlagonia. Yes, Alexios' descendants were somehow still Orthodox vassals of the Muslim Seljuks, or to be precise the Beyberlik of Oman, who held a lot of Anatolia. Now, I'm searching for a way out of this predicament and a way back into the Empire. I have no clue where to begin.
