[MOD]Death causes

Death Causes v0.9b
for Crusader Kings 2 v1.04

Do not use it if you have Crusader Kings 2 v1.05 or later!

Download link: View attachment Death Causes v0.9b.rar
To install it, unpack archive contents to your "Crusader Kings II\mod" folder.

Bella Gerant Alii 2.2d compatible version: View attachment DC 0.9 for BGA 2.2d.rar Should also work with 2.2c (DO NOT USE IT IF YOU DONT USE BGA OR USE OTHER VERSION OF THAT MOD!)
To install it, unpack archive contents to your "Crusader Kings II\mod\bella gerant alii\full" folder and overwrite existing files. It`s recommended to backup your BGA mod folder before installing Death Causes.

Have you ever wondered why your genius king died at the age of 25? Has he been assassinated or slain in battle? Or, maybe, he was killed by a boar while hunting? Maybe his wound festered and killed him? Or was it a plague?
This mod allows you to see causes of death of every character in game. When someone dies, he gets a trait representing a way he died.

Current bersion is 0.9b and it contains following "death traits":

Stillborn

Death by old age
Death by plague
Death by poor health
Death by suicide
Death by wound
Death in childbirth
Death in prison
Died in a hunting accident
Died at a tournament
Killed by mob
Killed in battle
Killed on duel
Mysterious death

Sanatyr made several alternative icon sets you can use. To install them, unpack archive over your Death Causes installation.

Currently I have added death-traits to all "death = yes" lines in vanilla event files. If you find any event that kills character but doesn`t assign him a death-trait, please, report me.
IMPORTANT! If you want to combine this mod with other mod that adds or changes any events that kill characters, add the following before each "death = yes" line in your mod:
Code:
hidden_tooltip = {
add_trait = TRAIT_NAME # death-trait that you want to be assigned to dying character
}

This is a mod that I would certainly be interested in! I've always wanted to see causes for death. Sometimes characters die, and I would like to know a possible reason why. Could there have been a plot involved, or did they get sick, etc..? But is there a way to reasonably add the cause? For example, a cause could be "Killed in Battle", but you only want to use that when the character actually died in battle. Location might be cool as well.. for example one could be "Died in prison" for those who actually died in a prison... etc. Just some thoughts.

Looks great! What are you going to do about assassinations that are undetected? Are they all going to be "undetectable" here. I.e. will every normal death be a mysterious death, or will that be specially for assassinations?

Some more ideas:
Natural Causes (for deaths with no cause 40-60)
Old Age (for deaths with no cause ages 60+)
All the diseases
Childbirth (if a character dies while pregnant)
Shipwreck (if a character dies with no cause on crusade or abroad)
Torture
Surgery (if the character dies while ill with no cause)

Version 0.2 released!
4 new traits added and every death by event now gives a death-trait.
In next version will be added traits for non-event deaths.

Brilliant idea!

Hi,

this mod is a really cool idea, unfortunantly i have a issue:

Because i also use a mod called "HRE Revised" i already have an edited traits.gfx file.
This mod actually only adds one trait "crowned by pope", while your mod adds several traits.
Since this is the case i will probably use your traits.gfx instead of the HRE-mods' file.

However, i've been wondering, how exactly can i edit the .gfx file in order to contain both mods?
