We all know that the Protestant Reformation used to start quite early in this game (compared to reality); I've experienced it at any point from the 1480s to 1510s.

During my last campaign on the current patch I've seen it spawn after its historic date (1517) for the first time ever.

In my current game it is the year 1525(!), Reform Desire is at 116% and still no Protestant Reformation happening. Did the devs ever mention that they tweaked the start of Protestantism?

never:)
Orthodox Ottomans forcing religion on every catholic nation.

In current patch I had games when reformation starts in 1490 and when it starts in 1530. It usually depends on what happens in HRE - e.g. when you dismantle HRE there are less OPMs so less reform desire. Burgundian inheritance can result in one big nation or multiple small nations. Italy leaving HRE usually causes nations to conquer OPMs so this also can cause less reform desire

Better later then earlier in this case. Seeing most of the Europe Protestant or Reformed (along with the half of Italy except of Span and Portugal) by the mid 1500-s in earlier versions of the game was like needles in the eyes.

Not to mention that the League war usually played out way before XVII century and you had no chance to get the splendor for being on victorius side in it.

Isn't it given in the next era, no matter when exactly you won. I have always received it. Well, it's like converting provinces, you do it in one era, and the score is transferred to the next.

Yes it is. It doesn't matter when the war starts only that you are part of the victorious side.

I think its been tweaked to spawn later. It was spawning mainly in the 1480s or early 1490s almost all the time in earlier patches. Like other posters have previously said, reform desire is mainly based on how many Catholic nations exist. The base increase in reform desire is 0.2 per year, so in your game, base increase contributed to 14% of your reform desire, while 86% of reform desire is due to AI and player decisions. The AI decisions tend to average out, so the number of Catholic tags is the main variable.

I might be wrong, but previously it didn't work, if the League War played out during the Age of Reformation. Either thar or I remember it wrong.

Are you saying that if the end of the league war occurs after the start of the next era, then the bonus does not count? I thought it was impossible to end the confrontation so late. There seems to be some mechanisms tied to dates. It's just that I've never come across such a situation.

Early or late beginnings of the Reformation are common, but the war of the leagues occurs at about the same time. Maybe it has to do with the balance of power. The later everything starts, the more powerful forces are involved and the easier it is to unbalance them, which most often leads to the outbreak of war. Most often, it is after I get tired of sitting and waiting that I get involved in an adventure and then the AI decides that the time has come. I always admired how much the player influences the events in the game world.

I meant to say that if the League War played out during the Age of Reformation, the splendor objective "Win Religious War" didnt count as fulfilled during the Age of Absolutism. But again, I may be wrong, or it was fixed not long ago.
