The UI for drinks especially is really, really bad and annoying. Even when you DO know how to use it it is IMHO hard to use. At the very least I'd like a tooltip that can tell me what I am producing rather than trying to play guess the tiny icon.

I'm also not really loving the whole "match the booze" mini game. It just seems pointless and shallow to me. First off, who ever heard of a bar only serving a single type of drink? Why not just let us sell whatever we produce, and the high quality products bring in more money? The whole matching each month thing so like pointless micro busy work.

Yeah not a fan of the matching minigame for sure. On production it will give you the name at least. But on the supply screen you just have to remember it goes from swill up to higher quality.

I might have had the screens mixed up. I just know on one of them, it doesn't give you anything but the icon.

I still don’t know how it’s done. I’m not stressing though as part of the fun for me is working everything out in my own time. But if it’s done IN the brewery itself then nothing is obvious and I can’t find a lever to pull in the management screen either. I’m sure I’ll work it out but either way it’s useful feedback for the dev I think.

Far right button in the top right section. Once you have the menu open the left most button (production tab) is where you set each brewery's alcohol production. Right of that is the consumption tab where you set each district you have buildings in for alcohol use. It is district wide.

You do it from the "Alcohol Info" screen. Furthest most icon on the top or F8

I've had the prosperity change from mediocre to bustling and then to another type in The Same Day. Is this a bug? Happens often. And is annoying because have to go into change liquor type being developed twice before my gang gets a block away..

This needs to be addressed immediately. It is impossible to keep doing recon around your area with that thing pinging every week or month.

Residential areas don't fluctuate from month to month, it should be more of a quarterly/semi-annual update.

I'm yet to get to a stage where it even matters! I build wide to get the money to build tall and then it all gets taken off me by faceless goons because I was stupid enough to get into a war.
I'm perplexed by reports that the game is too easy. It isn't.

If you have level 2-3 security and are hitting the enemy gang members soon as war is declared you should be fine? Makes deals with everyone when you first meet them before everyone starts hating each other. Means you come out pretty peaceful at the end. Gobble up non faction building for a starting point and do mission. I had 5 nearly maxed rackets before going to war. Wiped the first wave and was routinely wacking the rest while I took all his rackets.

It took me 19 hours to beat my first 10 neighbors 13 bosses game. For the most part I enjoyed myself but there some oddities in the UI point in fact its my biggest gripe.

In the Racket screen you get all this detail but no way to set the alcohol. You have to go to a different menu as as mentioned play the match the drink game. I don't mind the summery screen far from it I just want to be able to open my racket and assign the alcohol there if I am in the mood.

The icons for the beers kegs are too much alike for my old eyes. The others are fine but the barrel and the slightly different color barrel annoy me.

The symbols for the various rackets are all a good symbol next to a building. Every icon has the building... Make the symbol bigger and get rid of the building it's in the way and does nothing to help explain what the icon is for.

Any screen that shows a picture of a boss should allow me to click on their face to go to the diplomacy screen for that boss. I would even settle for a right click single item menu to prevent misclicks.

The radial menu has buttons and words. If you mouse over the word it highlights. But if you click on the word the radial closes and does nothing. This was probably my biggest gripe. Took me forever to figure out what was going on, pretty sure I spent a solid 5 minutes trying to fast travel my first time later probably a good solid minute going THIS WORKED LAST TIM....Oh?! WTF.

I want a hot key for swap weapon. Pretty sure the R is available for a reload quick key. Heck while I am begging, a option for a melee strike hotkey would be cool too. Sure not everyone will use them they can just use the numbers but I promise if the option got added they would get used :)

Lastly let me assign commands to my multi button mouse. I love the ambush system. I just want it on my thumb button instead of CTRL. Maybe weapon swap, melee strike or reload on my other thumb button .....

/rantoff didn't mean to do that but it's done and I ain't deleting it :p

It's the style of bar rather than being one type of drink. A posh cocktail club isn't likely to do so well in a downtrodden slum, while a cheap rotgut and small beer place probably won't get many patrons uptown. Gameplay wise it prevents you being able to dominate the city with only a couple of breweries, which forces you to both build more breweries (which seem to have the highest upkeep of all businesses) and upgrade them. Or at least that appears to be the intent; at present the economic side of things is a little too lenient so you can indeed dominate Chicago by churning out gallons of swill, it's just not optimal.

The tooltip does tell you which kind of booze you produce if you hover over the icon. What would seem to be an obvious link is missing though - if I tell a neighbourhood to prioritise Top Shelf then that should also be applied to my production in that neighbourhood without having to go to a separate screen and set it. Could even just give a little popup or checkbox to have the setting applied to breweries as well as businesses for those times when you're exporting your booze from that neighbourhood.

In terms of the OP I don't think it's a bug as such, what seems to be happening is that the prosperity is hitting the threshold to upgrade, something occurs to lower prosperity, then something upgrades it again, rinse and repeat. It fires a notification off each time that threshold is crossed in either direction.

Booze is set on a per district bases. Would make zero sense to have a button in each racket to set booze type being served. Thus you do it on the regional distribution page.
