Lo all, I'm working on a scenario involving the years 1-479 AD. If anyone would like to have some fun, I got some flags and shields that would be pretty fun to make. I'll list the countries that I need.
- Rome
- Western Roman Empire
- Eastern Roman Empire (Early Byzantine Empire)
- The Franks
- The Goths: Ostrogoths, and Visigoths
- The Huns: Eastern and Western
- The Vandals
- Early Han Empire (China)
- Parthian Empire
- The Early Celts
That's it so far, also may have more later on. Honestly, if anyone wants to join this project contact me :)

I'd love some help and new insights. Anyone interested in Roman times :)

Ok, these are NOT historical or correct, just my insight after some research, anyway here's what I've found so far:

- Rome

From Korath's sote: http://mozart.atpnet.com/~korath/eu2/misc.html

- Eastern Roman Empire (Early Byzantine Empire)

From Iostephanos site: http://www.geocities.com/littlsaint/fourth_shields.html

- The Franks
An heraldic legend from the XIIIth century claimed that Clovis used a banner charged with toads before his conversion to Christianism. The toads were considered as pagan and devilish animals. (From FOTW)

- Parthian Empire
The Romans appear to have been inspired by the dragon standard carried by their Dacian and Parthian enemies and had adopted this device by the third century.
The Parthians carried various banners, often ornamented with the figures of dragons, but the famous national emblem of Iran, the Drafsh-e Kavian, appears to have served as the imperial banner.

- The Early Celts

Carthage (Don't know if you need this)
Carthage in North Africa was the great opponent of both the Greeks and the Romans for many hundreds of years. A strong maritime power, Carthage, at the height of her empire, held interests in western Sicily, Sardinia and Spain. Slow to adopt the practise of minting money it was not until around 400BC that the Carthaginians adopted the, by now, widespread custom of using coins. Clearly influenced by Greek issues, particularly those of Syracuse, the Carthaginians had the head of Tanit, the Punic goddess, on the obverse. The reverse bore the national emblem of the horse accompanied by a palm tree and the words "in the camp" in punic script. This indicates that the coin was part of an issue struck in Sicily by Carthage for the use of her armies there.

Vandal Kingdom
This could be used as a shield for the vandals.

Nice, I had found the Roman and the Celts one from Korath's site, I guess I'll try to do some of my own, (tried once and failed). Thanks for the help. I think I may try some revolts in Carthage which would make that pic useful. I will check into some history to see if Carthage ever did revolt after the Romans decimated their empire after the last Punic War. I'm also going to start the emerging of Christianity.

I'd strongly suggest looking in the Scenario List thread; Kaigon and someone else already did quite a lot of work on a scenario in exactly this timeperiod.

I know nothing about the Early Han Empire. But there are seven shields on kaigon's page that could pass for one.
