Can you add the line in define.lua to enable the feature? There was a proportional AE gain in 1.3 and I want to put it back. I distinctly remember Johan saying proportional AE is what the devs want but they are removing it due to the community's demand.

I really miss this and I don't see any harms in letting us enable what was already once in the game via modding.

Personally I'm not opposed to the idea, but I can't imagine that being alongside Paradox's vision of 'European majors being beginner-friendly snorefests', honestly.

I'm not opposed to this idea either. But the community would go nuts over taking 45 AE per ~5 base tax once you've blobbed out enough (this is how drastic it was in 1.3).

In practice, it would just promote silly gameplay patterns like setting up vassal return-core-fests or coalition CB abuse, both which work best via heavy AI ally backstabbing.

Personaly i've been thinking of suggesting the opposite, that small nations should get less due to their size, as well as reductions for taking from large nations a bit like how warscore cost decreases based on size. I even think there should be a reduction between two nations who mutualy rivals each others.

An increase based on size might have a place, but should not be able to reach extreme values, something like that should at most be able to reach a 100% increase, and should decrease faster with distance. The inrease won't go well within the empire though, you already get extreme values in there, only ones to not get that are the lucky nations with their insane reductions.
