I cannot concieve any greater cause of a future war than that the German people surrounded by a mob of small states, many of them consisting of peoples who have never previously set up stable govenments themselves, but each containing large masses of Germans

David Lloyd George former Prime Minister of Britian

It is quite a mistake to suppose that Hitler has seized power. All that has happened is that we have given him a job.

Franze von Papen German Vice-Chancellor, 1933

Only a madman would consider the possibility of war between the two states(France and Germany) for which, from our point of view, there is no moral of rational ground.

Chancellor Adolf Hitler, 1933

Hiler's higley intelligent and therefore would not be prepared to wage a world war.

I guess von Pappen was telling the truth. He allowed Hitler to be Chancellor, and thought he could control him through the office.

I guess in every event there are peoples who make predictions that come true, or predictions that are so far off that they look funny through the eyes of history.
