The Monophysite icon on the other hand blends in seamlessly, without any sort of edge.
The issue is pretty clear when comparing the alpha channels of the Menorah and the vanilla icons:

More good news:
I found a way to trigger the introduction event immediately on campaign start rather than day 2, so the game won't pause on day 2 any more. It also means that the religion/culture setup will be correct from the moment you start the game (though it will still appear wrong on the character selection screen)

That's not the same alpha layer I have, I must have updated it; either way the picture in my last post has only a faintly stronger dark edging than the vanilla icons, and is very smooth, but fair enough, it's very hard to meet such high and mighty standards; offer rescinded. ;)

I like that Imperial Reconquest idea. I would suggest perhaps splitting the first tier (Greece & Anatolia) into, say, Thrace, Thessalonika, Nikaea, and Trebizond into the earlier tier and the rest into a later tier - this would be for late starts where the Byzantine Empire has already lost massive territory - it wouldn't make sense for them to basically go jihad on Armenia when they barely control Thrace.

@cybr: Weren't the Persians pretty tolerant to different cultures? If I'm wrong though, I'll remove the modifier from the Iranian culture group.
I'll consider giving the Italians and Iberians a watered down (20% maybe) version.

I dunno if the Persians were tolerant per se, but I know they didn't like the Arabs. Although this might just be a modern thing (I thought it occurred historically too - but perhaps that was only for the first half a millennium after the Arab conquest). Overall though cultural differences weren't as significant to much of the Muslim world, so I guess you can keep it for now.


Otherwise I'm pumped for the new version!

Edit: Oh, also, I think diligent characters should be able to do the IMperial Reconquest CB, too.

I'm a bit concerned by Independence factions. For example in the HRE, large states, like Matilda's Tuscany, a reformed Lotharingia or K. Bohemia should try to seek independence. One-province counts should not. Recently an Independence war won, leaving Italy and parts of K. Burgundy balkanized into a bunch of one-province counties. Is there anything that can be done about this?

I don't think I've ever seen only small states declare independence. But Urbino and Ancona for example declaring independence alongside Tuscany seems reasonable to me.

Good idea with the slothful trait preventing the expansion...
Also its quite importan for the gameplay to prevent small states from joining the independence faction....

Muslim Republic CB - NOT = { is_religion_group = muslim } ;)

I attached two saved games in a 7z file. The earlier date one loads fine. The later date crashes every time I load. I have not made a saved game after the 9/20/1122 save which does not cause a CTD.

I have all of the DLCs and I'm using PB. I started this game with 3.0.5, then updated to 3.0.6 and deleted one of the duplicate characters from the save.

I attached two saved games in a 7z file. The earlier date one loads fine. The later date crashes every time I load. I have not made a saved game after the 9/20/1122 save which does not cause a CTD.

I have all of the DLCs and I'm using PB. I started this game with 3.0.5, then updated to 3.0.6 and deleted one of the duplicate characters from the save.

The issue is most likely that you started it in 3.0.5. The CTD fixes in 3.0.6 won't carry over.

I'll wait for 3.0.7 and start over again, then. One of these days, I'll get a few centuries of CK2 as Byzantium and restore the Roman Empire. :)

Good thing 3.0.7 fixes that decision so one can actually restore the empire ;)
