is there any way we can limit Shiite jihads to adjacent territories? My game's Fatimids just Jihaded a land locked Leon...

EDIT: Actually, just taking out target weights of Iberian kingdoms for Muslims should do it, right? Sunni Seljuks shouldn't be invading Spain either, and the Iberian Muslims don't need any help from my experience. Do Crusades/Jihads still have a chance of calling on a kingdom with no target weight?

I would also like to know about invasions in Balansegang...
Meneth have you done anything to adjust overpowered Fatimid's invasions??? I remember them in vanilla, they are way overpowered
http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?620361-Are-Islamic-invasions-too-powerful and very often invade Italy and Sicily and sometimes Spain too... I think because they have lots of piety...
But I think you fixed that already...I'm currently playing as Danes and I'm watching Fatimids laying low at the noment around 1080...

Agreed.

It's also the only one that doesn't get rid of the vanilla invasion mechanics, making playing William the Bastard more fun. I used to play TPatT, but they ruined it by going the CK2+ route on invasions.

I thing Balansegang adds enough to improve the game, without going overboard and becoming too big for itself. It sets moderate goals and achieves them wonderfully.

Hey mate...What's the difference with the invasion system??? I usually play Balansegang...it's the most balanced mod for me...

Reducing or removing the crusade weight makes a big difference. I've done as such in Byzantium for example, so that they very seldom go for Thessalonika or Nikaea now before Epirus, Trebizond, or Armenia.
I guess I should reduce the weights in Iberia, or remove them entirely.

Crusade targets aren't decided entirely by weigh, but it makes a large enough difference that Iberian jihads would be extremely rare if the weights were removed.

I tweaked the Crusade weights, and I added most of the Holy War restrictions to the Muslim Invasion CB.

I believe that you should reduce them indeed...I'm not sure about removing them entirely, you will decide if that is more balancing...

Good to know...This is much better...

edit: Have you also tweaked Hashasin attacks??? They are also overpowered in vanilla...

My game is extremely unstable and I can't figure out why. I've experienced numerous crashes that happen unexpectedly, and now I'm having an automatic crash to desktop in year 1099 that has rendered my current game unplayable. Has anyone else experienced this? I've tried playing with and without the compatible mods and have experienced the same problem.

I have tried downloading this mod several times, but it doesn't show up in the launcher. I have followed the installation instructions, and I always place it in the mod folder for CK2, but it isn't working. The installer application downloads successfully, but when I use it it fails to actually install the mod. It says that the installation has finished, but nothing new appears in the mod folder, and nothing appears in the launcher for me to select. I'm not sure what's wrong.

You're either pointing it at the wrong folder, or something is preventing it from installing.
It could possibly be your anti-virus, or if you're using Windows 7 or Vista, UAC.
You could try simply installing it to your downloads folder or similar, then copying it over; it should work fine.

I'm playing the heraldry and extra ambitions minimods. I haven't experienced frequent crashes with vanilla or other mods so I'm not sure what the issue is. I started a new game under similar circumstances after a fresh install and I will let you know if I keep having issues. If there's any other way I can help let me know.

Just wanted to say, just got Sword of Islam and was playing a few vanilla 1.06 game to get a feel for it. And I quickly came back to Balansegang. :D

I'm glad you kept West Africa looking the same as the expansion mod. It's cool that Paradox added it in with 1.06, but it looks ugly as all sin.

1.06b with Balansegang, was getting pretty many (seemingly) random CTDs until the 1:st of november 1090 autosave (monthly, from annual, autosave because of frequent crashes :( ) when it now always crashes. Save game is here. 1.06b with Balansegang with SoI.

Thank you, I'll see if I can reproduce the issue.

Just wanted to follow up my previous post. I started a new game with a fresh install (again) and am now getting an automatic CTD in year March 1101, right around the same time my game was crashing before. This seems to reoccur in the same spot even if I load an earlier save months prior. Looks like at least one other is having similar problems. Let me know if there's any other info I can provide.

Hey mate...What's the difference with the invasion system??? I usually play Balansegang...it's the most balanced mod for me...

The others made it so that you only get the demesne of the title you are invading. This would lead to William the Conqueror ending up with controlling only a few provinces while having a lot of wrong-cultured very powerful dukes. It usually results in a bit of a weak England and a very temporary Norman presence.

So I'm considering making combat faster, perhaps lasting about half as long as it does currently.
The results would for the most part be the same, but the length of combat would be a bit more realistic. It'd also mean it'd be more difficult to reinforce ongoing battles.

Any opinions on whether this is something I should change?

So I'm considering making combat faster, perhaps lasting about half as long as it does currently.
The results would for the most part be the same, but the length of combat would be a bit more realistic. It'd also mean it'd be more difficult to reinforce ongoing battles.

Any opinions on whether this is something I should change?
I don't feel like battles last too long at present, reinforcing ongoing battles is pretty difficult unless you are already moving one province away or doing the sea thing. Faster battles would just mean you have to time it better but wouldn't change the overall result.

Quick question. When I revoke a mayors title because he is a Muslim and I am a Christian, usually my vassals are fine with it yet they still appear to be pissed when I do it. So my question is, is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

They shouldn't be getting angry.

Hey Meneth....I believe that battle timing is just fine as it is...Very fast battles will somehow destroy the immersion of the game and they are not historical too...also the reinforcement during battles was very common during Medieval era, so with longer battles we can reinforce our armies like the medieval way, usually using 2-3 waves after the first infantry attack...

The others made it so that you only get the demesne of the title you are invading. This would lead to William the Conqueror ending up with controlling only a few provinces while having a lot of wrong-cultured very powerful dukes. It usually results in a bit of a weak England and a very temporary Norman presence.

Thanks for the info mate..

Ok so some of my Vassals are supporting my sister's plot to kill my son and become heir to my empire. The co-conspirators happen to be my Brother, Half brother and brother in law, along with a bunch of mayors and such. Is there a way to implement harsher treatments against the traitors. I mean the only guys who agreed to end the plot was my brother because he liked me completely and a vassal because he dared not to refuse. I originally wanted to imprison them and have them executed for treason yet this will cause my other vassals to dislike me as it is unjustified.
