More brainstorming:
  • Request revocation of titles owned by characters they hate (not sure how you'd determine this, but eh)
  • Changing investiture law (imagining tug of war requests between faction and Pope)
  • Demand liege gives up some of their demesne (if it's particularly large, possibly?)
  • Demand liege divorce current wife in favor of someone else? (I don't know, could get really complicated)
  • Offer to change religion or culture to match liege, or demand liege changes either (this seems unlikely to be a good idea)

give liege a "compliment" <-- some kind of event/trait (permanent or temporary) that would rise liege prestige/piety/vassals opinion
Something like that might work.

Yeah, the 1st isn't really doable.
I might make a religious faction once I've got the autonomy faction working well.
Cutting him down to size is a decent idea.
Divorce seems overly complicated, yeah.
Religion/culture doesn't really work for a big faction.

I've noted down #1, through 3.

Hey, just wanted to let people know that I updated Steppe Faces to 2.01, and it includes an optional PB compatch. I cannot check it in-game right now, but it should be fairly straightforward if there are any problems. Link's in the sig, and I have to thank you, Meneth, for providing me the necessary files. Regards.

A few ideas:

-Force distribution of minor titles [if liege is either strongly disliked, or over demense limit] (Dukes if a king, Counts if a Duke or King, etc. Also secondary baronies.)
-Force HRE to become decentralized
-Force king with high tyranny, incapable king, or other particularly strong negative factors to abdicate to heir.
-Demand an embargo of a republic, maybe?
-Demand financial support from liege (if vassal levies raised too long, or multiple members are bankrupt)

The new faction thingy looks pretty interesting. Looks to me like a simple version of CKII+'s faction system overall, which is not necessarily a bad thing.

#2 being a specific thing doesn't make that much sense I think.
#4 wouldn't make much sense either.
Noted down the other 3.

MBTOGW is the Jure Uxoris mod Damocles made. It's compatible. Yeah, it's probably SWMH then. It's fun to have, but it's way too slow. I guess I'll disable that.

The only thing MBGOTW (the acronym of which remains a magical mystery) has in common with any other mod in existence, is it's 00_on_actions, which I have updated for PB, and will keep updated for VIET, once PB+SMWH and VIET is compatible. Tho, it's easy to also do by one's self with a few minutes on their hands (it's literally the addition of one event id each to the divorce and death on_actions).

More brainstorming:
  • Changing investiture law (imagining tug of war requests between faction and Pope)
I really like the investiture law idea. The investiture conflict was one of the big features of the 11th and 12 centuries in terms of church/state relations.

For those who want more background:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Investiture_Controversy

Another idea for a positive reaction: a small number of event troops during a defensive war.

I just found a bug with loans. When asked to pay interest or pay interest as well as repay as much of the debt as possible, the second option doesn't reduce the overall debt at all. The debt remains 880(if you asked for a huge loan) after paying interest as well as extra money.

That's quite impossible:
Code:
if = {
    limit = {
        has_character_modifier = huge_loan
        wealth = 800
    }
    wealth = -800
    remove_character_modifier = huge_loan
}
if = {
    limit = {
        has_character_modifier = large_loan
        wealth = 400
    }
    wealth = -400
    remove_character_modifier = large_loan
}
if = {
    limit = {
        has_character_modifier = medium_loan
        wealth = 200
    }
    wealth = -200
    remove_character_modifier = medium_loan
}
if = {
    limit = {
        has_character_modifier = small_loan
        wealth = 100
    }
    wealth = -100
    remove_character_modifier = small_loan
}

Are you sure you're actually repaying any loans? If you don't have enough money to repay an individual loan in full it'll simply repay interest.

Currently there are 5 actions they can take:
* Provide financial support when the liege is defending in a war
* Preserve status quo (do nothing)
* Demand lower obligations (crown levies/feudal obligations)
* Demand revocation removed
* Demand internal peace removed

Any suggestions for improvements are appreciated. More actions are especially needed.

1) They could demand consultation on liege's declaration of wars, as though the vassals are a council that limits liege's authority. Acceptance creates a modifier that precludes some/all CBs. Alternately, the modifier(s) could force a check for vassal opinion before CBs are usable; Vexing Vassals means opinion of liege > 0 needed for CB use, Arrogant Vassal means liege opinion > 50 (for example) needed.

Simpler would be if they just demanded a modifier that forced no CB use for a period of time, so they could go about business w/out being called to war.

2) Demand pressing of a vassal's claim?

3) Enact temporary increase in opinion of liege (pat on the back for making them happy).

4) As with 3, only offer bundle of prestige as they sing your praises for leaving them alone.

Just checked, you are right, I am simply paying interest instead of paying as much back as possible. I thought you can actually pay back as much of the loan as possible in the literal sense.

Just checked, you are right, I am simply paying interest instead of paying as much back as possible. I thought you can actually pay back as much of the loan as possible in the literal sense.
Due to how CKII code works, that's sadly not all that doable.
If it were a proper scripting/programming language I'd simply store the loan amount as a variable and let you pay back part of that, but that's not doable.

I don't think #1 and #2 would work very well.
#3 and #4 I've pretty much noted down already.

I've implemented 3 more options for my autonomy faction:
* Make liege release any vassals he holds prisoner
* Make liege give away a county if over the demesne limit
* Make liege give all faction members money (5%/10%/20% of yearly income for each count/duke/king faction member)

Playtesting is very much appreciated. Further suggestions are also appreciated. Here's the suggestions I've got noted down currently:
- provide financial support if liege is fighting infidels (offensive war)
- expel jews/heretics (characters)/infidels (characters)/holy orders
- give liege a "compliment" <-- some kind of event/trait (permanent or temporary) that would rise liege prestige/piety/vassals opinion
- Request revocation of titles owned by characters they hate (not sure how you'd determine this, but eh)
- Changing investiture law (imagining tug of war requests between faction and Pope)
- Force king with high tyranny, incapable king, or other particularly strong negative factors to abdicate to heir.
- Force distribution of minor titles [if liege is either strongly disliked, or over demense limit] (Dukes if a king, Counts if a Duke or King, etc. Also secondary baronies.)

First thing I notice is that it seems like all faction decisions are available to anyone..?

I will certainly playtest the living soul out of this. I love the concept of the adjusted faction system.

Some possible&impossible suggestions:
-Faction provides the liege additional levies, but asks for lands conquered in holy wars to be distributed among its members.
-Faction provides the liege with additional levies, but expects him to press their claims on titles.
-Factions against a particularly powerful vassal within a realm. If realmsize is larger than say....30, and particular vassal (not liege) has 1/3rd, then other vassals can band together and either end up declaring war (if possible) or trying to make the liege cut the vassal down to size.
-Religious factions within multi-faith realms. Could be a demand from Cathar nobles on their liege to make the whole realm Cathar, for instance. In Orthodox/Miaphysite this can even be accompanied by demands to replace patriarchs. For examples nobles in Armenia can ask the Basileus to replace an Orthodox patriarch of Antioch with a Miaphysite one.

-Autonomous faction can demand that realm be split up (example: king of England&Scotland has two sons. They can ask the king to give Scotland to his 2nd son, or even a scottish noble).
