Great work on the fast turn around time with PB. You, and modders like Aasmul and cyberxkhan are a huge source of inspiration to me (PB+SMWH+VIET being amazing). Just as a heads up, I recently released a mod focused on jure uxoris for vanilla, that I included an optional compatibility patch to play it with Project Balance (required adding a couple lines of code to PB's latest 00_on_actions).

I was playing on the shattered world scenario, and I was having an issue where I had a -100% penalty to my levies for "Martial Skill" and "Capital County". I looked around, and saw this was affecting every barony in the game.

I am playing only with PB and the updated VIET Traits and Events, as well as 1 small side mod that shouldn't affect that.

I assume this update can also be used by those with no access to the 2.0.1 beta patch, with other words people (including me) with a GG version (seemed a good idea at the time ;))of the game.

BTW the succession law file for PB + SWMH is different from the ones used for PB, Papal succession and succession by appointment are missing. I also hope that the compatibility issue between PB and SWMH regarding West African cultures is solved? (If so, then I'm sorry for asking. :)) Since the typo of Norsegaelic, in some of the lines in PB_culture it reads norsegaelicic, in PB + SWMH also hasn't been addressed.

I must admit having winmerge comes in handy. :)

Yeah, should work just fine with 2.0.

Both issues have now been fixed in my local version. Committing to beta branch. Though since SWMH isn't updated yet it doesn't make any difference beyond updating for SWMH a bit easier once that happens.

Is there any possibility you could update the Sultanate of Rum event, so as to not annex the Kingdom of Nicaea? It tends to wipe out a lot of Anatolian lords, that should remain around (Like the Komnenos).

Is there any possibility you could update the Sultanate of Rum event, so as to not annex the Kingdom of Nicaea? It tends to wipe out a lot of Anatolian lords, that should remain around (Like the Komnenos).

I would second something to ensure Greek lords in Anatolia don't end up being Turkish Muslims in a generation or two. It was so jarring seeing the Sunni Alexios Komnenos I just gave him some territories in mainland Greece in VIET.

One possible way would be to simply have an event banishing Orthodox from the Sultanate (using the new command available with 2.0), but I suppose there is a cleaner way to do it.

Theoretically, the cleanest way is to simply not give the Turks, lands they didn't truly conquer until centuries later. Ten or twenty years after Manzikert, Anatolian lords were still a powerful force in Byzantine society, to the point where one would-be usurper suggested to Alexios, that they split the Empire between them (one keeping the Europe half, and the other keeping the Asian).

Things were a bit rough at the eve of the 12th century, but the Turkish position was shallow, and the First Crusade rolled them back for several generations. In PB, it's common to see all of Anatolia in Turkish hands, before Alp Arslan even dies.

Is there any possibility you could update the Sultanate of Rum event, so as to not annex the Kingdom of Nicaea? It tends to wipe out a lot of Anatolian lords, that should remain around (Like the Komnenos).

Theoretically, the cleanest way is to simply not give the Turks, lands they didn't truly conquer until centuries later. Ten or twenty years after Manzikert, Anatolian lords were still a powerful force in Byzantine society, to the point where one would-be usurper suggested to Alexios, that they split the Empire between them (one keeping the Europe half, and the other keeping the Asian).

Things were a bit rough at the eve of the 12th century, but the Turkish position was shallow, and the First Crusade rolled them back for several generations. In PB, it's common to see all of Anatolia in Turkish hands, before Alp Arslan even dies.
Feel free to draft up some more appropriate borders.

Yes, should work without any problems.

It works well, in PB+SMWH, by treating the Nikaean kingdom the same as Trebizond. That more or less leaves it with borders that are about 90% correct, (within reason of what CK2 will allow, at the province level). It also works to keep the important lords within the Empire. Romanos Diogenes's lands are lost, but he should be Emperor by then anyways, and if not, so be it. He didn't own those lands anyways. He rarely (never?) makes it to be Emperor in vanilla, but that's because the base Byzantine start is a bit borked, and isn't to do with your event.

Although, as an aside, the closest thing in 1066 to it is a feudal elective situation (which it was like in CK1, IIRC).

I'm not sure what the kingdom borders are in PB vanilla. If PB vanilla keeps the same kingdom borders as vanilla, then the 'Kingdom of Greece', roughly corresponds to SMWH's Kingdoms of Thessalonica, Epirus and Nicaea combined. And since I doubt the PB version of the event usurps the Kingdom of Greece, it is probably fine. It might lose the Komnenos, but they should probably have a different duchy anyways. Paradox was pretty indiscriminate with their landing of Greek nobility.

Ah, well. SMWH doesn't work for me at the moment, to load up and take an in-game screenshot. But this screenshot that they posted shows the borders of the various kingdoms I'm referring to:

The proper borders are essentially the event as it currently stands, with k_nikaea and k_trebizond exempt. Except for that duchy in k_trebizond you made vulnerable to it, which was the right move. Nikaea has no comparable duchy situation that needs tweaking beyond its kingdom borders.

I'll get you something better suited to your purposes, once I can load SMWH again. I think 3.0 will be upon us shortly.
