There is a weird bug where the king inprison practically everyone in their realm. In my game king of england have 500+ prisoners. Also when resigning and going back to the menu the game crashes.

If anyone could help me pinpoint the event(s) that's causing the issue that'd help a lot. As I cannot reliably reproduce the issue I don't have any real way of fixing the issue, and cannot even ascertain whether it is a bug in PB or some sort of vanilla bug.

I haven't seen that issue but I have heard others also complaining about it...
But I'll do my best reporting other issues like the previous list I have posted...
Hope that will help you iron the issues quicker...

In my case the only thing I know is that England had a child-king ruled with a regent, and I noticed the problem first when he had come of age.

Also a suggestion to change/nerf the excommunication mechanics if that is possible. It's really quite mad at the moment as the Ai seems to throw those out everywhere, all the time. I know this "problem" is in vanilla too, and it is quite immersion breaking as they behave like small teen age girls. Dunno if there is something that can be fixed, though.

In common/defines.lua, you can change the piety values required/paid for requesting excommunication of a character and, correspondingly, those values required to request that excommunication be lifted. You'd be looking for the lines:

Code:
ASK_FOR_EXCOMMUNICATION_INTERACTION_PIETY = 100,

Code:
ASK_TO_LIFT_EXCOMMUNICATION_INTERACTION_PIETY = 50,

These are lines 260 and 272 in the current PB's defines.lua. Doubling them stops the spam. If you make any changes, as always, I recommend making them in a sub-mod which overrides defines.lua and that depends upon ProjectBalance. That way, you don't end up with a half-PB, half-customized file. However, with new releases of PB, check the differences between your defines.lua and the new PB's, in case there are any other changes made upstream that you want/need to incorporate.

And, FWIW, this game is completely modeled on small teenage girls apparently, so when AI characters don't behave that way, that's, well, an achievement.

I think I may have found a bug, but am not sure. I don't _think_ it's supposed to behave the way it does, but I don't know.

Catholics are ending the Schism almost immediately. Started a game in 867 with Shattered Balance, Schism ended in 869. I'm assuming the requirements are the same as for Orthodox, and I can tell you Catholics did not control all five Pentarchs. I know PB incorporated the Catholics Can End The Schism mod, so I'm assuming this is PB's doing. (But I'm also using VIET and Ancient Religions, just for the record.) I have a second game where they ended it without controlling the Pentarchs as well.

Interestingly enough, this has never happened in a game where I play as a Catholic or Zoroastrian. Only Orthodox.

Is this a bug or working as designed?

Currently the Catholics can end it if there's no Orthodox empire around. However, it is indeed currently a bit too easy to achieve, so I'm going to have to figure out a way to make it more difficult.

Well, since it's Shattered Balance, that explains that. There's no Byzantines around to prevent it. Though yes, I'd agree it seems too easy, especially considering what the Orthodox need to do to mend the schism.

Perhaps some requirements would be no Orthodox Empire, An empire existing for the Catholic faith?, and the Pentarchy completely controlled by Catholics.

Pentarchy completely controlled by Catholics doesn't make sense historically. It was the Eastern Church that elevated Jerusalem and Constantinople to the status of the original three holy sees recognized by Rome, first among equals: Antioch, Alexandria, and Rome itself. Neither Jerusalem nor Constantinople were technically accepted as part of the pentarchy-that-wasn't, as far as the West was concerned.

Suggestion:

In the case of no Orthodox empire (and Rome being held directly by either the Papacy or controlled by a catholic emperor), then at least also require a catholic ruler/bishop to hold b_antiocheia and b_alexandria as well as a catholic top liege for both, though not necessarily the roman catholic emperor. Admittedly, I'm divided upon whether the top liege should indeed be the same character as the roman catholic emperor for gameplay purposes (might still be too easy if not, in light of independent crusader states).

Also, one might specifically toughen-up the requirements just a bit further for catholics when has_global_flag = shattered_balance due to the lack of an orthodox empire at start and the difficulty of forming the ERE as opposed to any random catholic empire in that scenario. Besides, history is out the window in that case, so tougher requirements might be more fun for those who want WC (which is obviously more common for that scenario).

In any case, I agree that it should be harder for catholics to mend the schism than it is currently, but in the absence of a proper orthodox empire, I think it should still be slightly easier for catholics to mend the schism than orthodox, ceteris paribus. Antioch and Alexandria are relatively easy to obtain through Crusades / 1-2 degrees of Holy War, compared to Constantinople (unless this is post-Latin Empire).

Yes. I just need to get the free time and motivation to get it done. Haven't had either in abundance lately.

menth im playing pb+viet, and ppl keep getting mysterious natural death at age 0, 19, etc is this WAD?

How often does it happen, and does it happen with certain types of characters? Is it just a few characters or is it happening to every other person or something?

For the people at age 0, in VIET there is a modifier for young children that reduces their health, so that might be a cause. It may also be caused by VIET's childbirth mortality events.

As for age 19, I dunno. I do know that VIET does have a higher chance of natural death for non-elderly compared to PB, but it shouldn't be that much higher.

well in specific it was my kid who died at birth then a year or so later my wife die.

might've just had a very low health stat(personally I only think "weak" characters should die like that though honestly.)
