The Invasion CB shouldn't really cause any issues, yeah.
Do you have the save perhaps? If I can replicate it then I should at least be able to figure out what part of the code causes the crash, and then depending on the cause either fix it or report it to Paradox.

My save is attached, the only other thing I'm afraid of now is if my computer isn't up to snuff or something. It should crash on forcing my demands on Novgorod or before the end of the month if my character is left to the AI. Thanks again for having look.

In my recent PB, SWMH, PB + SWMH and VIET events game, I noticed something that (to be frank) annoys me, Welf Welf constantly renames his dynasty. Somehow the game doesn't recognize that he as a in game bastard already did so by adopting Welf instead of d'Este.
It might be a vanilla issue and be related with the recent patches.

Probably not something I can do anything about.

Does the AI ever grant independence? Sweden lost a bunch of territories and I can't tell why - there's no recent lost war for independence or anything.
He might've given into an independence faction without a war.

Does the chance of randomly being born with congenital traits impact generated characters? (e.g. decisions to invite "a noble", or characters generated directly as holders of baronies)

Culture conversion takes about 50% longer unless the province is coastal (multiplies MTTH by 0.75) or completely isolated from provinces of its own culture (multiplies MTTH by 0.4).
Interesting to know those exact factors.

Just had something odd come up in my Trondelag game. I had prepare invasion'ed Mercia when my king died in battle right at the end of the war. After he died the special event troops disappeared ( thats WAD i assume) but one of the charaters that spawned with it became my prisoner. Now the troops despawning i assume is designed but i don't believe the main general I gained is meant to be imprisoned just because the king went off and got himself killed.

Meneth do you think maybe we could have cultural conversion events require that the province in question share a sea-zone? Or perhaps a distance of 2-3, I just experienced some annoying oddities like Beduins in Asia Minor and Egyptians in the lower parts of Saudi Arabia and the northern parts of the Levant. Lets say you were expanding the Byzantines to original Roman borders, you might find Greek settlements on the northern coasts of France.

I have a hard time coming up with examples of anyone moving further than two sea zones aside from the Norse, and beyond even one was fairly rare. Allow 2 zones and all historical Mediterranean movements are possible, 3 and the Norse are as well. I think 2 would be optimal.

I tried looking at your CB code for sharing sea zones, this would describe sharing a sea zone right?

I actually have no idea, sorry.

Nothing I can do about what happens to the characters when the units disband, I'm afraid. Probably a vanilla bug.

The Norse were kinda a special case, the Normans already have their melting pot events and the Crimean Germans were from the 18th century. I'm fairly certain the Celtic culture was originally spread by land and then assimilated until only a few pockets were left. It just feels weird to have Egyptians decide to set up shop in Spain or having Persians - by sea - settling Antioch with Persians (that really happened in my latest game).

Just had another bug in the same game. I was raiding a province in Scotland when i had the option to capture the owners family when i selected it insted of imprisoning them i imprisoned myself. The Norse were kinda a special case, the Normans already have their melting pot events and the Crimean Germans were from the 18th century. I'm fairly certain the Celtic culture was originally spread by land and then assimilated until only a few pockets were left. It just feels weird to have Egyptians decide to set up shop in Spain or having Persians - by sea - settling Antioch with Persians (that really happened in my latest game).
The Crimean Germans were Ostrogoths who had been there since the third century.

Weren't those somewhat small amount? Supposedly a cultural shift involves forming a majority. Also they were a horde, not a settled people.

At any rate I just find many of these conversions immersion breaking, like my latest Zoroastrian game with Persian Antioch. I imagine if I continue they'll settle Italy, Asia Minor, Greece, you name it.
