not sure if this is PB or VIET but West-African holdings using West-European portraits for buildings

Probably VIET. Though I haven't had this issue myself it's also an issue in CPR (as you know) so the issue is probably similar.

Heinrich 'the Kind' was deposed for tyranny in favor of Dirk of Holland, who was excommunicated and then deposed in favor of Heinrich, who then changed the succession law to Primogeniture. He's currently fighting a civil war for elective monarchy. Now that's what I call unstable.

e: He won. Unbelievable.

I'm finding subjugation CBs aren't working. I'm running no additions to the mod and starting as the count of Orkno in 867 no matter what I do I can't get a subjugation CB even after taking the ambition and ensuring I meet the requirements as stated. I've restarted several times and every time I run into the same problem.
Where's Orkno? If you mean Orkney the lack of a land border will prevent you from subjugating anyone.

e: He won. Unbelievable.
Was this in the HRE with the latest patch? How'd Dirk change the law to Primogeniture?

Can't say I've heard of this issue before.

It may be a vanilla issue but, for example, the duchess of bourbon owns two of the three counties in the de jure duchy, she rebels, i win and i'm sick of her always doing it (this is the 4th time she's re-usurped the title) so i revoke bourbon (to lower tyranny costs) then banish her. i get minus 20 for tyranny and obtain all her money plus her primary holding but she keeps the other holding and is released from prison. In my muslim game when one of my half brothers rebelled i banished him straight away (no tyranny of course) and i took his emirate, and his capital but he kept one other county, lost all his money to me and i still had rightful imprisonment on him.

as a note i did imprison him and banish him again

I'm not sure if it's this mod or the latest patch, but raiding seems kinda... broken. It was definitely way too profitable in vanilla, but as it is now, you get almost 0 loot without besieging holdings. That means that a century in every mid-large sized country is immune to raiders most of the time, as there's no way that a siege will finish before the AI sends over an army.

Sounds like it's a vanilla issue, as the banishment mechanics are hardcoded.

I'll look into it, though you should still be getting a lot of money if you spread out your men (1000 men per county).

That works in provinces with poor forts, but I'm at 960 AD now, and I would say at least 90% of provinces have all their loot protected by forts.
I've committed a change to the beta branch to address it:
Reduced the amount of gold protected from raids by fort level by 25%

I am playing Project Balance in its current 1.101 iteration and I have encountered a problem. I am playing as the King of England. When I first formed the kingdom of England I was able to raise crown law from none to low. However, while my second king was still in his regency his regent pushed crown law back to none. Now, 2-3 kings later I have formed the empire of Britannia and I still can not raise crown law(for England/Ireland/Scotland or Britannia above none to low. For some reason below [(*) Has the Law 'No Crown Levies'] is a (X) Holder. It makes me think I am missing something right there. With every king I had I met all the listed requirements other than this (X) Holder thing. Except, now I don't meet the [(X) Rank is lower than Emperor]. How am I supposed to raise crown law that I am missing? Can I never raise it now that I have the emperor title?
Any help would be appreciated!

As an emperor you need to meet these requirements:
Either diligent or not content.
Either ambitious or not slothful.
300 prestige.
All vassals above duke level that aren't in prison need an opinion of you above -25.

Seems the Tulunids don't stark with a king title in the latest version. Also would you consider changing their culture to Turkish? Since Ahmad would only gain the Governorship in 868 so there is no reason they should be Egyptian.

Haha, ruler of Egypt in the old gods start. He was a Ghulam which were primarily recruited from the Turkish steppes. Edit: By recruited I mean bought/captured as they were slaves after all.

Question. With the No Historical Empires part of the mod, does that mean you can't make Empires at all or that you can make Titular ones?
The titular empires are still present, so if you've got the capital and meet the requirements you can form them. Won't give them any dejure territory though.

Where's Orkno? If you mean Orkney the lack of a land border will prevent you from subjugating anyone.

Was this in the HRE with the latest patch? How'd Dirk change the law to Primogeniture?

Yeah, it was the latest patch. Heinrich must have taken advantage of having two separate reigns (which seemed to clear the tyranny too), as he did it. The HRE was destroyed in 1367 somehow, here's a final map.

Notables:
Shia Mongol Persia, Arabia, Khiva, Armenia, Volga Bulgaria and Crimea
Fatimid blob (HOW?!)
Orthodox Hungary led by Spartenos dynasty mostly since 1129
Monothelite Kiev blob
Byzantium is led by a Bogomilist Emperor-Bishop
Corsica & Sardinia owned by mercenaries
HRE was destroyed, France expanded to its natural border there (hehe)
Castille completed the Reconquista
England mostly rules the Isles

Hi :)

I've encountered a problem while playing a republic. The CB for conquering sea provinces does not work. I play Amalfi, build a trade post in Naples, but don't get a CB on the city of Neapolis, not even after reaching 100 prestige and 50 piety points.
