Why do the Old Gods scenario is after vanilla's first one.
There are indeed quite a few issues with tournaments at the moment. They should be fixed when jordarkelf next updates the New Duel Engine mod, which hopefully he'll do soon. I believe he's been quite busy in real life for some time now, sadly.Playing as a vassal in Hungary, tournaments of the other lords seem to never happen because of "the death of X lord." I'm pretty sure they are not dying. I'm running PB, SWMH, PB+SWMH, PB VIET Events, and PB VIET Traits. I will get invited to the event, and then it will be cut short prematurely because of the lord's death. Happened quite a bit.
I don't believe I've changed any CoAs (beyond defining CoAs for Pagan Scandinavian kingdoms), but any movement of titles and such will change the random CoAs generated for Muslims, Pagans, and Zoroastrians. It's likely what happened in your case.Just a couple questions, firstly, did you change any CoA's in 3.2.17? i was using .14 until recently and now my syrian sultans CoA is the same as the sunni caliph's but a different colour but i can see from my list of save files that it used to be different. Secondly i was wondering if there is a way to stop Shia being a heresy of Sunni. i'm sorry if this has been asked before but it is hard to find anything on it. Lastly, i've been having a strange crash recently, i used to have some CTDs for various reasons but worked them out but this crash just freezes the game, the music keeps playing but nothing works and when i bring up task manager it's not responding, any ideas?
Thanks for the great ever updating mod!
The post-Hastings start is the primary balancing point and thus is what will give most people the best experience. It's therefore first. Why do the Old Gods scenario is after vanilla's first one.
1. To my knowledge you're not supposed to inherit any of that. Though you do get a fraction of the dynastic prestige on birth. The feast issue got resolved overwriting VIET Immersion's feast_events.txt with the PB variant.
I've noticed a few things, playing as Jorvik. First time playing Norse, so I don't know whether these issues are intended or not:
- Your heirs/children don't seem to inherit a fraction of your prestige/piety.
- I've seen the Retinue Disabler building in counts' castles, when it's supposed to appear only if said holding's a barony.
- I can change my succession laws after 10 years of rule, being an unreformed Norse. I would've expected to be forced to remain gavelkind. At least until the faith's reformed.
- My two eldest sisters have a claim on my petty kingdom and hate me as title claimants (even though they don't seem to be official pretenders), despite the succession being Agnatic Gavelkind.
1. I know :/ I'm still waiting for the author of the New Duel Engine to fix tournaments. I think I'll just restore vanilla tournaments next version unless he's given some indication of a soon coming fix by then.I am experiencing two issues. I have PB+SWMH
1. Tournaments that I start never end and ALWAYS have to be ended by that special event. This has spanned multiple versions and every single country/dynasty I play.
2. I cannot seem to be able to do certain actions even when all the conditions are met. For instance I am playing the Byzantine Empire and I cannot change the crown laws even though I have met all conditions. I was also playing as Kiev and I couldn't create the Russian Empire even though I met all the conditions.
I'm afraid I can't reproduce the Alexiad issue. Thanks for answering my query, Meneth. Hopefully the tournaments get fixed soon. I had a CTD on clicking the Alexiad bookmark like someone else did as well.

Shia is meant to be a heresy in order to give characters the proper opinion penalties of one another; they were very often in conflict over religious matters.
I'm afraid I don't know of any common crashes in PB currently. If you've got a save where it can be reproduced I might be able to diagnose it though.
i thought it was strange with the CoA change too but that's unimportant. It seems to be the unresponsive freeze i'm suffering specifically happens on march 13th 1023 so as you imagine i can't exactly check it with another game i have. it does repeatedly happen with the current save though so i was thinking i'll leave it until you update to .18 and see if that fixes anything. If not i will upload the save
It was mentioned somewhere on the main forum that there's a crash involving muslim CoAs that's going to be patched soon. Maybe this is what you're experiencing?
Intuitive? It was an important trait for some of Isaac Asimov's characters, especially Lije Baley, characters like him, while smart, were not geniuses, they just had a different way of thinking than most people, while it could be debated that its more of a gained trait, I think its more of a combination of neuronal mapping and education. But then, the same thing can be said of geniuses!I'll also change the Creative trait to something else in the near future, so I'll tell you once I figure out what.
@Meneth: I did a few changes to VIET Traits in the newest version that you may or may not be interested in, mainly just some VIET-style battle effect tweaks to some of the new TOG traits:
- Berserker: +5% damage, -5% defense
- Honest: +10 opinion among Zoroastrians
- Deceitful: -10 opinion among Zoroastrians
- Saoshyant: +5% center, +5% morale offense and defense
- Saoshyant Descendant: +2% morale offense and defense
- Varangian: +3% defense
- Viking: +2% damage
I'll also change the Creative trait to something else in the near future, so I'll tell you once I figure out what.
I also had a few other minor suggestions, but now my memory's failed me again.
In some older versions of PB+VIET, some players kept getting CTDs a few days or weeks into the Alexiad start. However that seems to have resolved itself as of the post-TOG versions of VIET, so I dunno how or if it is related, but I figured I'd mention that anyways.
I've committed those trait edits, thanks.@Meneth: I did a few changes to VIET Traits in the newest version that you may or may not be interested in, mainly just some VIET-style battle effect tweaks to some of the new TOG traits:

I tried clicking every single bookmark, but experienced no issues I'm afraid. The issue is literally when you click the bookmark, not when you start the game.
It's a SWMH bug. Edit the allow section for e_russia and you can make things work.Hi,
Loving the new changes to the mod, the dungeon sieges and duesl have really spiced up the combat.
I am having one issue at the moment playing as reformed Finns trying to create the Rus empire. As the screenshot shows I've fullfilled all the shown requirements so was wondering if theres something I'm missing or if theres a bug.

I'm using PB alongside PBSWMH+, SWMH, Viet Events & Traits so not certain which one is causing the problem. But if you'd be able to give me a hint about whats at falut and how to fix it be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
I reported it after telling you about itThanks I'll report on SWMH
