Another suggestion for Republic CB, Meneth: perhaps the CB could vassalize the target instead of giving the county to the Doge. or vastly reducing demesne limits for republics, forcing them to grant all extra titles to vassals. Problem 1 being the republics typically used their colonies as trading posts/military bases more than ruling them directly. Problem 2 being if Genoa/Pisa/Venice, etc. is lost, the Doge just goes to another city and now is the Republic of Sardinia/Mallorca/Dalmatia/Sicily etc. I would prefer if the city is lost for the colony cities to go independent, and be feudal (or whatever they were before, if not republics).

Vassalization would only be possible if the province owner is a count holding a single county, or a duke holding a single county and with no vassals. I might try coding something for those situations though.
Reducing demesne is sadly not moddable.

Not sure if your second suggestion is possible either.

The seas have some interesting things going on. Apparantly Gondar controls the North Sea, and there's more!

I saw that as well. It shows Ghana controlling the Portugal Coast, among other oddities of various African contries controlling various northern seas. It has to be some txt or graphical bug as it only shows up when zoomed out on the map. The names disappear when you zoom in.

  • Fixed an issue causing various African nations to appear in the sea rather than in Africa
Note: Requires campaign restart to work. I don't imagine people've played all that far considering the issue, though ;)

Been playing it for a few hours and its great so far but I've been getting some errors and CTDs (I'm assuming) from the errors.

Been getting that alot and when I click on the Cumens and the Seljuk turks, their faces don't show up. I currently have the mongol dlc so I'm not sure if certain things are missing.

I too have problems with portraits. First, cuman and turkish faces don't show up. Then i apply the solution proposed in recents posts : open the culture file and replace cuman and turkish for muslim. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem too work in the long run. Cuman and turkish faces do show up but my fellow (e.g count of bourges) and neighbourgs (e.g king of France) faces change regurlarly. For exemple as for my fellow, he sometimes has flat hair and sometimes curly hair.

Is it simply possible to get rid of Meneth's faces and get back to vanilla ones ? If so, which files of Meneth's mod do i have to erase ? Culture, characters ? Any others ? I wish i could play this excellent mod. Thanks again for your great job.

That's a feature in vanilla portraits too, no need to go blaiming Meneth. Your character's appearance changes based on what they're doing, what rank they are, and how old they are.
I definitely do deserve the blame, as I forgot to update portraits.gfx. It's fixed in my local build which I'll be releasing later today.
Anyone experiencing problems can put this file in mod\balansegang\interface\

Why exactly? It'd mean one'd have to delete the directory before every install, to ensure everything works properly.

I just don't like mods that use installers. I guess it's just an OCD thing -- I prefer to know exactly what I'm installing and where it's going. I always delete the mod in question's folder before I install a newer version anyway. It's not a big deal really, I just think it's tidier. :blush:

I also have messed up African/Mongol portraits and random (?) flags, for example England has Northumberland's. :blink:
