sorry if this noobish question has been asked before, i did a search but didn't see an answer...

If i want to run PB, PB_VIET,Additional_Objectives_PB and Arko(with religions deleted) is there anything i need to do other than just select them in the mod section and start the game?
If I were you I'd check if there's any incompatibilities between Additional Objectives and VIET, but beyond that is should just be a matter of enabling them all, yes.

Meneth, what do you think about adding in some negative modifers if a faction attacks a head of a religion? In my games at least, if I kill the pope, or capture Rome, as a pagan or Muslim, there is never really any response from the rest of the catholic world.
As a Catholic you should be getting excommunicated shortly after declaring war on the Pope.

I expect this was already reported, but Balanced Burgher focus gives +50% tax when it should give +20%
Yep, it's fixed in the beta branch.
I'm having a bit of trouble mending the Great Schism, and I'm posting here because I googled it and people seem to be able to deal with this particular problem in vanilla; I am catholic, and have taken all prerequisite counties with fabricated claims (except, of course, Rome), but I didn't actually get the bishoprics held by the Coptic Pope and the Orthodox Patriarch. Which is unfortunate, because I also can't press county claims on them, or declare war on them at all. I'm afraid to keep playing that particular save, since I'm 67 years old and my character probably hasn't got much juice left, and saving up another 2000 piety would be a pain.

I'm running PB + SWMH with the no assaults and no ahistorical empires submods.
As long as you're running PB 3.2.15 or newer, all Christians should be able to push county claims on the Pentarchy provinces.

CK2 is updated, but I was under the impression that updating PB would kill my save files, so I've avoided updating for that reason. I also couldn't find mention of it in the changelog.
As long as the middle number stays the same, all saves should work. Back in the day I tested a 3.1.5 (or some such) save in 3.1.20 (or somewhere around there), and it worked just fine.

Didn't have time to play much (.21 from beta, a few days back). But while checking the code, I noticed that Council positions are not adjusted for new succession laws. For example, females can be chancellors under Cognatic succession. But it doesn't allow them under enatic-cognatic and enatic. Just throwing it out there!
Doesn't actually matter since checking for succession laws in the councilor files doesn't actually work.

maybe this is just happening to me, but after updating ARKO, my game crashes at loading if i try to use arko with pb, i never get off the screen with paradox shield... but the error is behind ck, and i cant alt tab or anything, i only know cause the cursor changes, and if i click around where ok should be it closes to desktop...

i think its a change with arko, cause pb+AO, PB +PB_VIET and PB+PB_VIET+AO_PB still work...

edit:yes i deleted religions folder, and completely deleted the old arko stuff before putting in the new one... hope this is the right thread to post in...
Make sure you've got the very latest version of ARKO, from what I've heard a recently released version had some major issues that have now been resolved earlier today.

I don't know if the issue come from PB, Viet or Vanilla.
Since i never tried Republic before sorry if it was reported before.(also cause my GF play on the same computer another game the version is still patch 1.2)
1/As doge of Genoa the Pope grant me the invasion of Pisa.
I win the war and after, its a big mess with the pisan titles (I become my own successor for Pisa Républican Titles, for my house (With side effect for Genoa Republic)... obviously its not wad )
(game PB+SVHM+Viet event and Traits+no ahistorical empire.I can provide the save if needed).
2/ I found a Jimena Girl that i bretoyed with my Heir, the engine ask me someting like 500 gold to enact the betroyal, but when they were in age the character married and i never had to pay the money.
Both sound like vanilla issues.

Hi Meneth. More explorations with your mod and another issue. Want to check with you if it is PB or vanilla.

What's happening is, as an emperor, I create some kingdom, let's say the Kingdom of Aragon, and grant the title and all under it to some vassal of mine. All the dukes in de jure Aragon become his vassals except for any Doge. I can't even transfer the Doge as a vassal but the newly created King of Aragon has a 'Desires Republic of Barcelona' penalty against me. Is this WAD? I finally ended up revoking the Doge's duchy, making it feudal and then handing it to the King of Aragon. Also, I am not able to grant kingdom titles to my doges. Is this also WAD? FYI, I don't have the Republics DLCs. I just like seeing their sea zones in my map :)
The vassal transfer mechanics are hardcoded, so there's not much I can do about it.

  • Doubled the prestige requirements for upping Emperor's Peace

  • Reduced overall retinue sizes by 20%
  • Norman culture no longer spreads to Saxon provinces
  • Significantly slowed down culture spread in realms affected by the HRE Decentralization law (unless target is Baltic or Pommeranian) or a Decayed/Intact Theme System
  • (PB+SWMH) Fixed some issues with the event for the expansion of Portugal

This was in 3.2.22 so it may be fixed:
The 'Release all prisoners' decision freed one of my men held in a foreign court, costing me nothing. I had no prisoners in my own court when the decision was selectable.
I've made a small update to the beta branch that should eliminate any chance of this happening.

I've noticed Khazaria is split in three in the "no ahistorical empires" start, which I thought just altered de jure empires. What's the reason for this?
Thanks, a fix has now been committed to the beta branch. The module was still using a modified file from before TOG released, so there were no rulers in the 867 start.

Hi Meneth, Is Additional Objectives 2.0 mod compatible with your latest release ? I am asking this here because owner of the mod doesn't look at the thread for some time and may be you are also using it in your games.
To be honest I've no idea. But it probably is as I haven't changed the objective files lately.

It's gonna be the hundredth. Even without counting, I don't know what else it could be. Quite an impressive number of updates. What governs when you go from 3.1 to 3.2?
The middle number changes when saves break.
The first number is meaningless, and I've got no idea why I put it there to begin with. In reality I should be at version 9.23 currently.

The 100th release is correct :)

Not sure if this is a bug or just weird luck on my part, but:

I was playing PB+SWMH recently (as France), and noticed that England and the ERE both had a succession of rulers who for some reason never got married. In England's case, this started after Eadgar of Wessex had a successful rebellion against the House de Normandie. In the case of the ERE, some Catholic Venetians somehow became Emperor; after the first Venetian Emperor, who had a wife and two daughters, the following three did not marry (though one is still alive and could, in theory, marry at some point).

Both realms have also had lowborn characters become king/emperor, though it looks like only one of each. In the case of England, this appears to have been the result of a Cathar uprising; I can't tell why the ERE is now ruled by a lowborn Emperor, but it looks like he won it from the previous holder in a war of some variety.
As the marriage AI is essentially hardcoded, it is likely a vanilla issue.

I believe I have found a problem with the Imperial Reconquest system. I was surprised when I controlled all of Sicily, Serbia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Byzantium, Coloneia, Mesopotamia, Edessa, but could not start a war to reconquer Cairo or Tunisia (which I should be able to, according to your map on the first post.)

After checking your codes, the problem seems to be this: as I started with the "Manuel Komnenos" bookmark, much of Tripolitania, Tunisia and Egypt has drifted out of their original kingdoms (North Africa into Mauretania and Egypt into some titular sultanate) after a century. The codes for Imperial Reconquest targets de jure territories of specific kingdoms, however, so any territory that drifted out of them would become unavailable for reconquest.

Is this working as intended? The reconquests are based on the claims of ancient Rome, so it seems proper that they should hold no matter the current de jure kingdom covering those lands.

PS: And Genoa drifted out of Italy and into Genoa - I spend half an hour wondering whether that tier of Imperial Reconquest on your map actually covers Genoa or not when I realized I could attack Venice, Lombardy or Susa, but not Genoa.
The thing is that dejure drift is near impossible to account for. However, as long as it drifts into a kingdom that is within one of the reconquest tiers (which is likely most of the time), then it should still be available; just at an earlier or later date.
Doing it by duchy however is not a solution, as the completely_controls check if particularly intensive, and thus should be kept to a minimum where possible.
