It failed to properly generate the flag of a rebel claiming the throne. Got a black square instead, and that black square I think caused graphics-related crashes, because it crashed when it was paused, nothing in the game log was unusual, and when I tried loading it up without ARKO the flag generated and the game hasn't crashed since.
Ah, that could be it yeah. Make sure you report it to Arko.

I keep crashing when i reform the Norse religion. I dont know if its Viet or PB doing it.
Most likely VIET, I don't change anything about reformation except for the # of holy sites needed.

A few questions regarding the Scandinavia (Union of Northlandia(?)). I did some minor cheating to be able to form it as a Reformed Norse, but this unfortunately means that I don't get the pretty darn awesome flag/banner you guys made. Is there any way to mod the files, so that the banner also applies for a Reformed Norse Pagan?
You can probably duplicate the CoA section in e_scandinavia in landed_titles, and change it to norse_pagan_reformed instead.
I'm also interested in having the Jomsviking appear, but as the names of the provinces are changes (Playing with SWMH), I'm not sure what regions I need to conquer/convert. Anyone know?

Coptic Pope(head of Miaphysite)'s capital is the Cairo instead of the Alexandria. Is that intended?
Because this setting make Miaphysite Patriarch UI error and I can't make Alexandria Miaphysite Patriarch in 867 campaign setting.
That's from the North African Expansion, so I have to assume it's correct.
You should still be able to install a Patriarch in Alexandria though.
You can't load the save ingame? Or you can't download from netload.in?
Can't load it in-game. Though downloading it did take forever; I'd recommend MediaFire in the future.

I have a question about the Imperial Reconqeust tiers: do you need to own every single barony in the required duchies before moving on to the next tier? As far as I can see I have all the provinces up to the green tier, but I'm not getting Imperial Reconquest CBs on duchies in the dark blue tier. But the Pope still owns some bishoprics in southern Italy and I think the Mongols have a couple of baronies in Croatia still. Or am I wrong in assuming that the dark blue tier comes after the green tier?

You need every barony, yeah, as the CB checks for "completely_controls", which includes baronies.

By the way, the problem with tourneys I mentioned a few pages back turned out to be (probably) just the tourneys that had started up before I saved and installed the updated version, as I didn't get any 'killed in personal combat' casualties after that first few months with the updated version.
Glad it's working now.

In the previous version I kept getting the "You spot an enemy across the field" event during battles. But 9/10 times clicking charge did nothing. The only time it did there were 5 guys in the tooltip and the duel happened.
That might well have been fixed by the targeting fix in 3.2.22.

It might be something to do with VIET, as I am not experiencing it with PB + ARKO.

I would like to speed up the conversion of some cultures as the, Norse to Christianity. Where should I change the mod?
You'd have to edit the AI weights so that they convert more often when a court chaplain is sent to them. Not quite sure where those events are located though; might be in the religious events file.

i accidentally turned the Aegean islands in to a trade republic. should i be able to do this? is it a good thing to have?
Giving a coastal republic a duchy will make them a trade republic. It's a vanilla mechanic, so you'd have to ask Paradox if it is intended :p
It's a good thing to have since they'll pay you taxes.

Well, how would I make a version for AGOT?
You could ask them to include those parts in AGoT itself; I'd give them permission.
Anyway, there's a few components:

  • The event in the module folder itself, obviously
  • Localisation for that event in PB_events.csv
  • Code in succession_laws.txt checking for the global flag the event sets
  • Code in job_titles.txt checking for the global flag the event sets
I think that should be all of it.
Don't know if this is a vanilla issue or not, but the General Opinion modifier for hosting a feast seems to apply to everyone...

Seems kind of silly that the Pope likes my feast, even though I didn't invite him, and I'm a Doux in the ERE. :D
I guess it should be a vassal modifier.

When is next update. We are planning to start a new MP-campaign with TOTAL VIKING POWER (the balanced way) on monday. Do we update now, or is an update imminent ?
It'll probably be a while until the next update, seeing as I just released one yesterday and don't have much on the changelog yet.

Hi,
I think there is a problem with PB No Ahistoric Empires. It appears in the CB2 launcher, but does not actually load. No intro message appears and no decision hints for CBs appears.

I have tried loading it by itself and with VIET (PB variants).
No Ahistorical Empires simply makes certain empires have no dejure territory. There are no events associated with it.
Do note that you need PB itself running as well.

I was finding that counts have the retinue disabler still on when it says it is only for ranks such as barons. Is this WAD?
It should say "This building prevents barons and single-province counts from having retinues."

That's of course correct, but it doesn't necessarily change my point. A Norse version of the Sicilian culture would still have the Italian, Arabic and Greek components, it would just miss the Frankish one. It would be a Sicilian culture different from the historical one, sure, but I still think it's worthy of an event of its own.
I'd say that the Frankish part of Sicilian is far more important than the Norse part though.
I'm gonna ask again for Duchy of Damman to be moved to Arabia, It's literally in Arabia, not really making sense for it to be in Mesopotamia.

Also, any chances for renaminf the localisation for the focus' in the laws section? Such as:
Heavy Feudal Armies, Moderate Feudal Armies, Balanced Feudal Focus(so the same?) Moderate Feudal Taxation, Heavy Feudal Taxation

The laws section still states the focus and the effects would be the same, I just think it would be nicer than levies ++ and taxes ++ yah know? :)
They do have long names similar to that though? Only the button itself says the ++ stuff, which is due to not being able to fit much on them.
Burgundy is Occitan cultured and East Francia is German cultured, so he wouldn't switch his title. East Francia has a higher dignity than Bavaria, and they're both German, but the AI prefers to use a landed title IIRC.

is it possible to create second empire so you could do something like creating the empire of Italia as the Byzantines give and give it to your heir but still be a vassal so there would be co emperors like there were before the fall of the west? just a thought i had and was wondering about.

or maybe a titular eastern and western roman empire titles?

Why is Tunisia and Tripolitania around instead of Africa? the two tiny sultanates are too easy to form.
It's from the North African Expansion, though I'll consider undoing that change.

Also, why Poland-Lithuania? it makes me cringe when I go to de jure empire mode.
It's better than the Wendish Empire at least.

Playing as Iceland (in 867, with a little help from the cheat console and the give title command), was reducing the burgher tax because playing a republic I'm swimming in money anyway but short on armies, and noticed that the median setting is 50% taxes - given that the others go from 10-30%, I'm assuming 20% was intended. Changed it for my game, but you might want to fix it for next version.

Also, what's the rationale for republics only being able to use control of a city as a CB to conquer the county that they're in if the republics are Christian? And should this be applied to using a trade post to take over a city as well? I seized the city in Gwynedd, but was surprised to find that I couldn't take the county next.
Taking the county has some extra requirements that should show up on the CB itself on the war declaration screen. The requirements are there to prevent merchant republics from blobbing too much.

Any chance it could be changed so that more than the norse have the "caliph" when they reform their religion? No sources for anything obviously(reforming paganism is a huge stretch anyway :p) But I would suggest at least one more pagan group get the bonus.

Are Galleys supposed to be able to carry 200 men still? Still says 100 for me with latest patch/version, which makes carrying anything quite...challenging since I can't even carry my unsplittable levies...
They currently carry 200. As long as you're not using any other mod that edits defines.lua, that should be the case.

I had in landed title the restriction NOT = { tier = king } for Kingdom of aquitaine.
The main reason is that after an occitan king of france create it 3 time in a raw in 3 diffirent game i start, breaking the immersion (why should an king create another crown weakening the one he hold allready, when succesion law is primogeniture?) and probably because of games mechanics, switch primary title time to time...
That work pretty well (in my test game the Kingdom was create by the IA after the Duc of Aquitaine manage to gain independance) (I play PB+SWHM+Viet Traits and Events+no ahistorical empire)
Main reason are are historical plausabilty and its the SWHM file i edit, but since your focus is balance,maybe you could consider this to improved the France capabilty of surviving in 1066 start.

My knowledge for modding and i have not so much time to play so my personal gameversions have very limited scale (for instance i also disable the kingdom of Britanny for personal reasons) as your work is just awesome anyway. :)
But i like to know if there is a simple way to force the the succession for different titles (for exemple give up the kingdom of Jerusalem when hold by France or England King)

Good point, I'll restrict Aquitaine to non-kings and the player only.
Can't apply that in PB+SWMH though, so you'd have to ask the SWMH team to do so as well.
