Tech gain is slower than vanilla in PB, except in centers of trade.Across the board I find tech gains too fast.
If you compare tech increases in game compared to the history file, in game the tech increases significantly faster then the files I find. To the point I can load up a game and after all the bonuses to tech and councilers I am getting tech increases happening at 250% a year.
Yeah, I haven't gotten around to tweaking tech based on long-term trends yet. That causes problems though. The result is after a century for the most part is a boring blob of everyone having in practice the same tech, rather then having meaningful differences in technology. Technology increases are fairly weak anyway, so to really notice them there needs to be not one but 2 "steps" to really notice it, and right now I don't see that being possible. About the only exception is military organization, which provides downright ridiculous increases in tech (at military 2.3, I get 110% increase in retinues from manpower)
You should definitely use the obligation laws.Okay, I have been slowly reading this entire thread. I am on parge 53 now. Woo hoo! (Yes, I have no life.) Anyways, this is something I am having problems wrapping my head around. Are you meant to use only the focus laws (making you choose between levies and taxes) or only the obligations laws (allowing you to have more levies and taxes at the cost of opinion)?
Or are you meant to use both the focus laws and the obligations laws together in tandem in some fashion?
If so, is it then possible to game the system the way you can in vanilla where you put your Crown Authority at maximum and your levies at minimum and you sort of end up with a little more levies for a little less opinion penalty?
Thanks for the explanation. I understand what each law (focus and obligation) does individually but I just don't understand how they work together or even if they are meant to do so.
Feudal rights; even those of a false religion have rights.speaking of laws why does the remove infidel titles law come with a relation penalty? shouldn't it come before the regular revocation of duke titles? also the decayed theme system gives both a relation penalty despite being unable to move it further back and a fairly hefty levy and tax penalty. why is this?
As an example, the Seljuks kept Greek rulers around, and to my knowledge the Spanish kept Andalusian rulers around for some time as well.I don't know. I can't see any western european realm at this time period being OK with some random duke or count being a member of a heathen faith. Maybe in places where within living memory, or at present, there are members of one's own family that are of heathen faith, such as in Sweden, but Comte de Generique in France is suddenly Muslim or something? I don't see how he'd not get kicked out with the full consent of the church and aristocracy of the realm.
There's not really much I can do about that, sorry. In my current game I got a message that I could rightfully imprison my wife since she has acted dishonorably
towards me.
There is no icon or anything that tells me what she did.
My brother died recently so I am guessing she had something to do with it
(although there was another guy who was behind the plot which I executed).
Also there is nothing in the known plots section.
Can you add a icon/ text that states what the person has done or do I have to go into text files or logfiles or
something like that?
Got a save where it can be reproduced?Possible Bug:
Playing PB+SWMH in the latest version with the latest official paradox patch:
When I win a Holy War against a single-County, I only get the lower baronies...the capital barony remains by the defeated enemy.
If I target a duchy, everything works fine.
It does not matter if my opponent is a single Count or if he has more provinces...everytime I target a single County, I only get the lower baronies.
Is this a bug or a weird Feature?
Are you using any mods beyond PB? You should get the char id and a few other things in PB.I can´t see the charinfos when i go with the Mouse over my Char.
What must i do for this?
You should be able to create the title. Do you have a save where the issue can be reproduced?I'm currently playing with this mod, as the duke/theme of Hellas in the Byzantine Empire. After a few decades, I have managed to get the three mainland counties that are part of Epirus under my control, leaving Corfu and the Cyrrh????? islands not in my hands. I am liege over 3/5 provinces in that de jure duchy, and I get the pop-up window that says "A title can be created", pointing me to the Duke of Epirus/Epeiros, which is currently not held by anyone.
I'm new to CK2, so the reason I'm posting this here is because I'm not exactly sure how things are supposed to work. When I get the "Title can be created" notification, what do I need to do to create that title, seeing as I have over 50% of the territory? I can't find a button on the screen that the notification takes me to, or in any of the diplomacy screens. Also, doesn't the fact that I can create the Duchy, and own a majority of the territory, mean that I should be able to press de jure claims against the two islands? Currently, I can't declare war as it says I have no valid CB, and I don't get the "de jure claim" notification. I thought one could press de jure claims when owning more than half the provinces?
Basically, 1) What do I do to create the duchy when I get the notification telling me I can, and 2) Why is this not accompanied by the ability to press de jure claims?
Sorry if this is a general question and not one specific to the mod, but it's kind of hard to know exactly what changes there are, etc, not having played vanilla.
thanks for the help, and for the outstanding mod
Both the reason you mention, and to reduce slowdown.Hey Meneth, I was wondering why the courtier auto-kill function was enacted. Is it because of court sizes having a "max" that passively is done, and removing the useless courtiers makes more room for useful ones?
Secondly, I have been trying to replicate a CTD from what I think is the dungeons in sieges mod.
In essence, as part of a large war in Sicily, the result was that my ally (kin) started a siege, I (somehow) take command of the siege when my much larger army helps the siege. Then I get two events, one to release prisoners, and another to capture the ruler and his family. After completing both, war ends, the enemy country changes to a child liege probably in my prison, then CTD. I have been trying to replicate this chain of events, but can't because I can't get the two to fire together. Is there a way to make it occur 100% cleanly to see if it truly reproducible or just a fluke for something else? I've looked into the on_actions files, and while I vaguely understand the structure I cannot decipher what # does which (I know I'm missing something)
Some weirdness I noticed when playing a Bulgarian count in the ERE:
1) The Bulgarian Unrest after The Formation of Rum keeps spreading and the dissipating in all my provinces every month, resulting in a lot of spam.
2) All Bulgarians and Croatians have a Heavy Infantry cultural retinue while their cultural building provides Cavalry, is this intentional? (playing SWMH+PB)
I'll look into it.The Crow Laws of Unreformed West African Pagan kings are not restricted, they can increase The Kings' peace for exemple.
The beta branch now has a bit of code in it that should hopefully fix the issue.Tested the Bulgarian Unrest a bit, apparently the spam only happens when your character has the Bulgarian culture. With characters of other cultures the event works as it should.
You should get the character ID, dynasty, and a couple of other things.Don't get any special charinfo either with the latest official release(3.2.21). Only PB for vanilla, no optional modules used. No other mods used either.
It should only imprison people who are in the location of the siege. Was your wife somehow there?I noticed the following weirdness (using 1.103 and the latest mod patch)
As a duke rebelling against the de Hautevilles, I laid siege to one of their castles. At the end of the siege, I chose the option to imprison all family members. My wife, who was also a de Hauteville, was also imprisoned along with the defenders of the castle. She was in my court, and my wife! How can it imprison her?
It might be an SWMH issue. Thanks for the help. I do have the save where I'm trying to create the title. What's the best way of getting it to you? I don't know if a 36 mb file is to big to use the attachments feature.
For your info, the total list of mods I'm using is PB, Arko, Additional Objectives 2, SWMH, VIET
![]()
Here is my territory- I have the three mainland provinces that are part of the title, and you can see the "title can be created" button up top. Corfu and Cephalonia are independent and are not part of the Byzantine empire.
![]()
Here is what I get when I click the "title can be created" notification- I see no option or button to actually do the creating.
Thanks for the help, and sorry again if this isn't to do with this mod, but I thought I'd ask here as this is the most "central" of the mods I'm using.
In waylit_siege_pulse_events, make the chance of the second and third option of the second event 0.If you could reproduce it can you upload a save? If that dynesty is the Sicilian one then we have established a common error. Family members from other realms are getting imprisioned when they shouldnt. and if this can be eatablished, it would help explain my ctd.
Also meneth, part of my question was how.to make the.siege events fire more rapidly. I need it to fire near 100% so i can try to reproduce my bug.
Essentially, for every even numbered duchy except 2-province ones, 50% works better. Needing 3 out of 4 for example is annoying. On a tangentially related note, is there a reason why PB uses 50% instead of vanilla's 51% for titles required to create/usurp duchies? The way this makes 2-province duchies work bugs me.
Thanks.I will see if I have a save file. I patched my game to 1.103 and the earlier save games have an empty map with no characters. Must be SWMH. And she was a Normaund of the Hauteville dynasty. I remember her name. Rocca de Hauteville.
Hmm, I see one edge case in the duel target code where that might happen. A fix has been committed to the beta branch. One more thing. I was appointed as a steward in the ERE and was researching Economy Tech in constantinople when a rebel vassal's army attacked my retinue in Achaia. That retinue was led by my marshal, but the battlefield duel event fired for my character, who shouldn't be there at all. And, to top it off, he died fighting. Now I am in a regency when I should be sipping mulled wine in the Emperor's palace. What gives?
Thanks.http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum...ct-Balance&p=15737535&viewfull=1#post15737535
The bug where you only get the baronies instead of the county with Holy War.
You can reproduce with every save game but i would recommend one of the latest...it is all the same game.http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?608858-only-getting-baronies
Sounds like it's a vanilla issue then, especially as PB doesn't change the outcome of a successful holy war.http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum...ct-Balance&p=15737535&viewfull=1#post15737535

Here is a topic, where someone had the same problem:

It shouldn't make much of a difference if you don't use 1.03b anyway, so feel free to use it.I am using Gamersgate version and thus don't have 1.103beta. Should I use beta version with 1.102 ? I ask this because i saw this in the changelog of beta : "Increased the reinforcement rate by 50% (to a base level of 3%/year) since the rounding error is fixed in 1.103b"
It's supposed to be invisible, though you'll likely see a small "gap" in the row of traits.Whatever trait the leader of Rum gets when its formed isn't showing. PB+SWMH+VIET Events/Assets , doubt they effect it but also Arko and NBRT on version 1.02.
Make sure you've got PB itself enabled, not just PB+SWMH; you need PB, PB+SWMH, and SWMH all enabled.@ Meneth
Yes i´m using PB in Comp Mode with SWMH 2.75 and cultural cities.
in the tooltip is the messege: CHARACTER_TOOLTIP_DELAYED
The same comes when i start the game without SWMH and cultural cities
Then you should be getting the extra information, namely character ID, dynasty, religion, and culture.I have activated...
Cities
PB+SWMH
PB
PB Gender
PB no ahistorical empires
SWMH 2.75 (the actualy version from the thread in the subforum 2.752 for 1.102)
My entry in PB_various.csv should override it (and does so for me).i have looking in the PB folders,
and in the localication folder i found not the text1.csv where the tooltips are declared.
Anglo-Norse and Anglo-Saxon are in many ways the same thing though; the culture includes a lot of Norse influenced names and so on.It strikes me as odd that Norse provinces in Norway, Sweden, and Denmark all switch to their respective cultures, Norse settlement in Celtic lands leads to provinces going Norse-Gael, and in France they go Norman... but in England, which starts the game already having some Norse-cultured provinces, they appear to just stay Norse. Have you given thought to adding an Anglo-Norse culture?
That's a decent point. My objection is that provinces in England don't all stay Anglo-Saxon when the Norse take them over - some flip to Norse and then stay that way while the other Norse-ruled provinces break up into national cultures. A similar issue exists with Norse conquests in Frisia/Saxony, but it's less common for the Norse to conquer them to begin with.
Huh, I've never had ARKO cause any crashes (that I know of).On another note, it appears the CTD I was getting was ARKO's fault, not yours.
