As has been suggested, it's a slippery slope. My personal preference would be Roman Empire but we can no longer do that as since LoR there's a decision to reform it, so the next best thing would be Byzantine Empire.Very nice...like your explanation why you wouldn't prefer that kind of additions...

Byzantine Empire really is a shit name though; it has no historical basis whatsoever. Eastern Roman Empire is slightly better, but that's quite silly as well.
I guess for now I'll simply have to leave it as Byzantium. Oh well :/

There can't be an East without a West. After 480 the Byzzies were simply the Roman Empire.
On another note I should apparently say/do slightly controversial stuff more often. I'm away for ~4 hours and suddenly over 20 posts are made
Just call them 'Rome'? That's what the Arabs did.
Or leave it as one one of the modern alternatives like Byzantium. True, they didn't call themselves that, but they also thought that Gog and Magog were real and that Greenland was joined to Karelia.

I'm actually somewhat inclined to make that the name, despite there actually being an e_roman_empire now. Perhaps the difference between the two can be the title the monarch gets and the color

I have a question. I turned of the trees in my vanilla game, and it worked fine with CK2+. Now i wanted to try this mod and the trees are back (trees, trees everywhere!!!!). How can I turn them off again?

1. Trees are mother earth's lungs. Why would you want to kill them?
2. Go to the options menu, that stuff should be under the 'video' tab.

I highly encourage it. Generally when it comes to mods nobody bothers to post a lot when everything is going well, but when there's bugs, controversial decisions, and the like, you get tons of posts.

I should say that the name Eastern Roman Empire was used only as long as Western Roman Empire existed...after that it's citizens continued to refer to their empire as the Roman Empire (Greek: Βασιλεία Ῥωμαίων, Basileia Rhōmaiōn, or Romania (Ῥωμανία) until its final collapse in 1453...
EDIT: My late great grandfather though, was Byzantine...

@Fishman: you have to change the settings file to disable the trees. So no I can not turn them off in the options. The mod overworte the change in the settings. I thought maybe one of you knew how to disable the trees in this mod.
