Thanks for answering my query, Meneth. Hopefully the tournaments get fixed soon. I had a CTD on clicking the Alexiad bookmark like someone else did as well.
I'm afraid I can't reproduce the Alexiad issue.

@Meneth: I did a few changes to VIET Traits in the newest version that you may or may not be interested in, mainly just some VIET-style battle effect tweaks to some of the new TOG traits:

- Berserker: +5% damage, -5% defense
- Honest: +10 opinion among Zoroastrians
- Deceitful: -10 opinion among Zoroastrians
- Saoshyant: +5% center, +5% morale offense and defense
- Saoshyant Descendant: +2% morale offense and defense
- Varangian: +3% defense
- Viking: +2% damage

I'll also change the Creative trait to something else in the near future, so I'll tell you once I figure out what.

I also had a few other minor suggestions, but now my memory's failed me again. :(
I've committed those trait edits, thanks.
The issue is literally when you click the bookmark, not when you start the game.
I tried clicking every single bookmark, but experienced no issues I'm afraid.

Hi,

Loving the new changes to the mod, the dungeon sieges and duesl have really spiced up the combat.

I am having one issue at the moment playing as reformed Finns trying to create the Rus empire. As the screenshot shows I've fullfilled all the shown requirements so was wondering if theres something I'm missing or if theres a bug.

I'm using PB alongside PBSWMH+, SWMH, Viet Events & Traits so not certain which one is causing the problem. But if you'd be able to give me a hint about whats at falut and how to fix it be greatly appreciated.

It's a SWMH bug. Edit the allow section for e_russia and you can make things work.

I am in a game and want to implement agnatic gender laws.
Where (which file) can I edit and remove the requirement of culture Basque?
I assume you actually mean True Cognatic gender law.
In that case, just apply it via the console if you don't want to meet the requirements (if you're not Basque, having a female ruler with a good nickname will do).
You just need to write "allow_laws" in the console and then switch to it via the law screen. Execute the allow_laws command a second time to make law changes have requirements once more.

Is this a permanent solution and for everyone or is it just a one time thing if I use the console?
For everyone for all laws, unless you disable it by inputting the command again.
If you just want to edit the succession law conditions, that's in succession_laws.txt. Do note that if you use PB+SWMH, you'll have to edit the file in there, not the PB folder.

I hope you'll consider changing cultural tactics, they're very strong at the moment. Mongol horse archers of course, but also Scottish pikemen and English longbows.

Made the switch from CK2+ to this mod, really enjoying it so far.

Though I do have to have to ask if Jerusalem receiving Investiture law if the Pope wins a crusade for it a bug? I checked and Jerusalem had investiture succession, which also made its kings never marry or have kids. I also noticed investiture succession randomly popping up in the Duchy of Orkney, but I'm not sure why. Is this a bug exclusive to this mod, or something Paradox needs to fix? Both regions were feudal territories, not theocracies, by the way.

Playing with SWMH, VIET events, ARKO, and CPR, by the way.
I guess it became a theocracy? Sadly when the Pope wins, every county is switched over to a temple holding when possible. PB has some code to undo it, but this does not quite work 100% of the time.
Luckily the Pope is almost never the winner as he gets a lot less warscore from doing the same things as everyone else.
- Noticed that retinue monthly costs, doesn´t seem to apply to the heavy infantry units only
- Is the usurp requirements of duchies a choice? in vanilla they changed it to 51% so that you can´t claim a new land and then make yourself the new duke right away. kindda liked the vanilla version, but if it´s a choice it makes sense, as I perhaps would have claimed to be the rightful duke, even though another had been for ages :)
Were you perhaps in debt? For some reason retinues can't cost anything, even constant costs, when in debt.
I asked the same thing, he replied a few pages back but short version is that yes, it's deliberate that it's still at 50%.

Game spawned several armies under this guy as a decadence revolt against the Fatimids, and his name was "Yassir of Decadence Revolt", which I guess the game decided was what his new dynasty should be named after, once he won. Awkward.
Vanilla issue, and probably not anything I can do about it.
Better with Revoltid than "of Liberation Revolt" and such that you'll sometimes get with Christians.

Next version retinues will be slightly more unique as I'm implementing the cultural retinues from SWMH in base PB. If you're playing PB+SWMH though, nothing will change except the order of the retinues.
If you're playing PB vanilla though, you'll get better cultural names for the retinues, and more unique retinue composition by culture.

I'm not sure if this is possible to change, but female rulers currently get mad at you if you change to absolute cognatic succession.
Virtually everyone gets mad when you change succession law for no particular reason. Not all that much I can do about it sadly.

I'm trying to create the Empire of Scandinavia (Kalmar Union) in a PB game, I'm unsure on what the title is demanding by saying it needs to be 'titular'?

I understand that a titular title is a title with no de jure land attached to it, but I'm still not sure what it wants me to do? It says I need either the Kingdom of Norway, Sweden or Denmark under my control, and one of them needs to be completely under my control, which they are, but then it has a cross next to 'Is titular' on all three.
For each of the three titles, one of the three must be true:
  • Held by you
  • Territory completely controlled by you and your vassals
  • No dejure territory
So for each of the kingdoms you have to either drift them into another title, hold them directly, or take all their dejure territory (including baronies).

  • It is no longer possible to increase obligation laws as the HRE when the Decentralized HRE law is in effect, nor as the ERE when the Decayed Theme System law is in effect. If someone with above minimum obligations inherits with either law in effet the obligations will be forced down to minimal levels
  • The HRE cannot change succession law when the Decentralized HRE law is in effect
  • Fixed non-dejure vassals not becoming independent from the HRE when the emperor folds to demands for independence
  • The Ghanan Band is now actually based in Ghana rather than in the Low Countries
  • Fixed the prisoner release event something not firing when it should upon occupying a holding
  • Implemented some trait combat modifiers from VIET Traits
  • Increased the cost of archers by 50%
  • Modified light cavalry's power in melee and skirmish to correspond with vanilla
  • Fixed a "rum" trait showing up in the Ruler Designer
  • Increased the effect of martial on combat modifiers by 50%
  • Integrated the additional cultural retinues SWMH adds (for cultures present in PB)
  • The Muslim county conquest CB now counts as a holy war, so defenders of another religion will often have religious allies join
  • Restored vanilla's tournaments. The New Duel Engine tournaments will be readded once they work properly
  • Fixed the retinue block sometimes being present in player-held counties
  • Ensured that file extractors that ignore empty files will no longer cause problems (E.G., African provinces in the HRE)

What were those crazy Ghanans doing in the Low Countries, we'll never know.
The vanilla province ID for Ghana was the same as the PB province ID for a county in the Low Countries.

Anyhow, can we expect one more update before the next patch on the 25th?
There'll probably be one on Sunday.

does this fix the banishment issue yet when a vassal owns more than one county and it takes their duchy (if available) and one county but they're free from prison with the other?
Can't say I've heard of this issue before.

I'm finding subjugation CBs aren't working. I'm running no additions to the mod and starting as the count of Orkno in 867 no matter what I do I can't get a subjugation CB even after taking the ambition and ensuring I meet the requirements as stated. I've restarted several times and every time I run into the same problem.
Where's Orkno? If you mean Orkney the lack of a land border will prevent you from subjugating anyone.
Heinrich 'the Kind' was deposed for tyranny in favor of Dirk of Holland, who was excommunicated and then deposed in favor of Heinrich, who then changed the succession law to Primogeniture. He's currently fighting a civil war for elective monarchy. Now that's what I call unstable.

Was this in the HRE with the latest patch? How'd Dirk change the law to Primogeniture?

It may be a vanilla issue but, for example, the duchess of bourbon owns two of the three counties in the de jure duchy, she rebels, i win and i'm sick of her always doing it (this is the 4th time she's re-usurped the title) so i revoke bourbon (to lower tyranny costs) then banish her. i get minus 20 for tyranny and obtain all her money plus her primary holding but she keeps the other holding and is released from prison. In my muslim game when one of my half brothers rebelled i banished him straight away (no tyranny of course) and i took his emirate, and his capital but he kept one other county, lost all his money to me and i still had rightful imprisonment on him.

Sounds like it's a vanilla issue, as the banishment mechanics are hardcoded.

I'm not sure if it's this mod or the latest patch, but raiding seems kinda... broken. It was definitely way too profitable in vanilla, but as it is now, you get almost 0 loot without besieging holdings. That means that a century in every mid-large sized country is immune to raiders most of the time, as there's no way that a siege will finish before the AI sends over an army.
I'll look into it, though you should still be getting a lot of money if you spread out your men (1000 men per county).

That works in provinces with poor forts, but I'm at 960 AD now, and I would say at least 90% of provinces have all their loot protected by forts.
I've committed a change to the beta branch to address it:
