Either should work, though the official location according to Paradox is in Documents.Does this go in the Steam mod folder or the Documents one? I'm on a Mac.
The. Game. Is. Cheating.
Some, yes. About 20-30 by my last count. Check out the maps in the OP for more info.I am definatly going to try this.Does it add new provinces?
The Seljuk turks as a de jure empire ? Now, as the caliphates are only titular duchies and no more kingdom, I think a de jure empire of persia should be created instead.
DoubleA, are you checking what tactics your commanders are using? By what you're describing, it sounds almost certain that they're picking Light Cavalry tactics, which completely gimps the rest of your army. This can explain how you would lose the skirmish phase, even while having a massively superior skirmishing army. Personally, I recommend editing the game files to "improve" the Light Cavalry tactics, as they're easily the worst in the game (they're completely negative). Also, you shouldn't underestimate Heavy Cavalry. They're far stronger than Horse Archers.
Edit: After reading your post again, I feel slightly stupid for asking whether you checked the tactics (that's what I get for skimming -.-). At any rate, you really should take a look at the tactics when they battle. Saying Light Cavalry and Horse Archers are pretty similar doesn't cut it for tactics. The "Harass" tactic increases Light Cavalry attack by 300%, but reduces Horse Archers and Archers attack by 150%. The important thing to note here is that Light Cavalry have fairly pathetic attack, so increasing their attack by 300% only puts it on par with what Horse Archers have without a bonus.
Check out this informative thread for more details on this phenomenon: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum...lding-Light-Cavalry-will-make-you-lose-fights
Again, I highly recommend that you edit combat_tactics.txt to improve Light Cavalry tactics, otherwise you just have to avoid them altogether, and that's no fun, is it?
Alternatively, you could do what I'm going to do in my next game. Edit combat_tactics.txt to make all tactics do nothing, so the combat is less random and your own units can't screw up your army. IMO, tactics were an awful idea in the first place.
Yeah, I think they were using LC tactics and timid infantry advance. Tactics would be better if you could pick them yourself if you were commanding the flank (or leave it up to the AI if you didn't want to).
And regarding horse archers: In reality, HAs and LC would be used together to devastating effect, especially by steppe people. After all, HAs are more or less LC with a bow instead of a spear. Archers probably would benefit from them too, because, you know, archers. Tactics need a major overhaul.
I'm having an issue with levy laws, and I have no idea what's causing it. I'm playing as the Emperor of Russia. Initially I had decided to keep the Kingdom of Novgorod and the Kingdom of Kiev to my own personal character because I did not want to give a vassal too much power, but a recent succession has caused my vassals to dislike me a lot more than they used to, so I decided to hand the Kingdom of Novgorod over to one of my vassals. He has a 100 opinion of me now, which is fine and all, but there's an issue where the "laws" are setting the levies that he gives me to 80% maximum (100% from opinion, -20% from laws), even though the laws should effect the levies numbers by 0%. I have Feudal Focus set to "Levies++" (-20% levies), and Feudal Obligations set to "Medium" (+20% levies). For most of my vassals, including Dukes, Kings, and Counts, the "laws" correctly set the levies to -0.00%, but for a few of my vassals (including the new King of Novgorod), the laws set the levies to -20%, and I can't figure out why.
There are a couple vassals who give me -20% levies from laws, but I care most about Novgorod because he has the most levies by far. The King of Crimea was the first "offender", and the problem has yet to magically fix itself. Another vassal that has this problem is the Duke of Cherson. I'm positive that it has nothing to do with their own personal laws because the King of Denmark has his Feudal obligations set to minimum, yet he still gives me 100% levies. Can anyone enlighten me as to why this might be happening?
My post is getting buried so I'm just going to re-quote it. Are there any answers on this issue? I wish I had more information, but I really can't think of any reason why it's doing this, so I can't give more information. It seems completely random ;/
Should be stored in My Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II\Balansegang\Screenshots.Where are F10 screenshots for this mod stored? It isn't in the vanilla folder and I can't find a ss folder in the mod folder.
Not sure how much this helps, but +x% generally refers to minimum limit and -x% refers to maximum limit. Or maybe it's the other way around. It's not as simple as it could be.
