Progression: How does it work?

By practically removing 80% of the gameplay stuff and dumbing down to myriads of dlcs. Because of that Tropico 5 is virtually dead.
I've played tropico 4 scenario, all dlc scenarios, i've played 50% of all the maps and seeing tropico 5 gameplay, it doesn't look that bad. If I didnt play so much tropico 4, i'd probably buy the sequel.
+1 its a shame, Tropico 1 and 4 are great games, i like 1 the best.
Tropico 5 is completely simplified,and dumbed down to play on a playstation. no more setting exact wages or rent for 1--rent is also linked to upkeep in a ridiculous budget setting. Not to mention the simple almanac. They really hollowed out the citizens and economy in tropico 5, the only good thing about tropico in the first place...but it is a prettier picture.
I preordered tropico 5 only played it a few hours until i realized coloring in a coloring book was more challenging and deep. RIP Tropico franchise.
Tropico was nice. It's realistic in the sense that you had to deal with an actual growing population, that would produce slums if they can't find housing.
But the maps was a bit small and restrictive, the gameplay was not open-ended, and I missed the zoning aspect of it.
Maybe it is a cool game if it stands on its own, but it makes for a poor substitute for Simcity, and that is what I actually was looking for.

Turns out, anything 5 won't work.

So, when Cities:Skylines get's to its fifth game, call it Cities:Skylines 6.
