Progon dynasty is wrong culture!

What is the reason for this? Is this a gameplay issue, because I see that the correct culture is commented on the character file. If PI already knew what they were, why didn't they just put it in the game?

An no, I'm not trying to start a flame war. This just pisses me off. Was looking forward to play this game as this dynasty (and some other dynasties in Byzantine Empire) and now I might not even buy this game. I know I can just mod it, but I feel like I'm cheating if I don't play the game as the developers intended. The only mods I install for any game are texture and bug fixing mods.

Get a courtier of the culture you want your child to be, set him/her as his/her guardian, and most likely, the next generation of little Progons are of the culture of that guardian.

General warning: No need to try and create a flame war when there is none yet.

Hungary is OP in this game. It's not realistic that a band of tribal horsemen could exert so much influence on the civilized Slavic peoples of the Pannonian plains. ;)

Many cultures are in culture groups that doesn't really make sense, get over it or download a culture mod when there is one. The Progons... they were Albanian right? I think there has been talk of a Mod that adds Albanian culture.

The problem I think is that there were as many culture as there was of duchies at that time...
Having as much in the game would be such a mess in term of gameplay and difficulties (opinion modifiers and so).

I guess they had to delete some culture because they couldn't find enough character who can be granted this culture. And they regrouped the culture by area.

For the Progon dynasty, I guess the real culture was deleted because there was not enough people of this culture.

What would happen if I modded the culture of the characters in the Progon dynasty, added the culture in the culture file and added some additional characters with the same culture? What kind of difficulties would I experience in the game playing as a character belonging to a culture with very few characters?

Well, everyone from other cultures will dislike you. It will be much harder for you to negotiate with other lords and arrange marriages etc. It will take away a lot of the fun in the game, but it won't be impossible to play.

A lot of cultures have less than 5 starting characters in year 1066 in their character file, but seems to have a lot more in the game. Why is that? Are they randomly created like in EU: Rome?

another stupid think is that the Vlach s are put in the SLAVIC CULTURE GRUPE.

WHEN THEY SHOULD BE IN THE LATIN ONE

I would say that the only Latin aspect of Romania is its language (which was latin derived) honestly they should probably be in the Greek culture group if they where to cange, Roman influence in Dacia was limited mostly to language. In reality they are more of a Goth-Dacian mix than a Roman descendent.
