Professional soldiers gives +10% Heavy Infantry Discipline.
Martial Ethos gives +0,25 army morale.

So, which one is better provided that heavy infantry is a majority of my armies (75%)?

What about Military Camps, it comes at level 15 and gives 10% more "land organization" (whatever this is). Strategy guide says it's "useful" but doesn't explain this further.

Manual says about Organization:

A unit’s Organization helps it to recover Morale after a battle. Organization basically translates into a faster rate of recovery from Morale damage.

So............ with morale my army stand longer in the battle, with discipline they take less damage and deal more damage to enemies and with organization they regain their morale faster after a battle.

But... Which one is the best for huge wars using mostly heavy infantry and mediocre leaders?

At first blush I would choose Professional Soldiers since you are a HI prone power. If you get the first hard hit in you won't have to worry about Morale or regaining it after the battle most of the time.

I would choose martial ethos or tribal recruitment, if my MP pool is large. Morale recovery wasn't an issue for me, units are often retreating for months from one province to an other... plenty of time to regain morale.

As for the other ideas, I can't say much. Because of the buggy research system I still couldn't try them.

Those Military NIs are really confusing and Strategy Guide really fails to explain them in detail.

Now I'm considering Tribal Recruitment too since my manpower pool is huge and getting bigger force to the field each time seems as useful as getting there force with higher morale, force with higher discipline...

I checked and AI seems to be split between Professional Soldiers and Horse Lords. So they pick better discipline over morale from Martial Ethos.

So now: if I take Martial Ethos I have +0.25 morale and they have +0.10 discipline, if I take professional soldiers, we're even... If I take Tribal Recruitment, I have bigger armies in the field.

If I take Military Camps I will lose a battle but will be able to strike back with full morale quickly.

I think I'll go for Tribal Recruitment and see how it works...

Anyway, what do you guys pick?
