Hoping someone can help me here. playing as U.S in Abyss campaign. by time 1937 comes around my production sings to an IC of about 100, with a "resource lack effect" of 65%, or 150 IC. Now can't build anything, and I guess I am mostly low on energy, as that one is constantly in the red, no matter how much trade I try and do. The game is basically over at this level of production. I didnt think the US should have so much resource issues. There is obviousely something I am not understanding. I restarted as confederates just to see, and their production was a whopping IC of 161
thanks for any help!

pretty sure its the peace time penalties.
You should only worry about consumer goods till u get events that dig u out of that hole , arrange ministers to minimize consumer goods and disband your army if u have to.
But don't worry when war gets near your production will ramp up sharply
this is a standard problem for the usa on all the harder difficulties.

This is a sandbox game and resources are pretty much balanced so no one can support much over 100-150 IC . Look at the oil , it is much less than HOI. Must annex to gain resources .

That really doesnt sound like much fun to me .... I get tons of enjoyment by customising my army.
I guess that's why everyone likes the "emu settings".
You can still build everything u need and simulate difficulty by fighting against the AI's doubled (or tripled:cool:) bonuses.

Its the Abyss scenario. You have 200+ IC but can only use a fraction of it at the start due to lack of resources. Gives you alot of incentive to expand. All your allies are in the same boat as well. In the USN case, spam miltiaand use the X6 tanks you start with to blitz through the Confederates. They are very easy to annex.

Mostly a good strategy. But if memory serves (I haven't played this scenario in at least a year) your tanks aren't all that good. They are the oldest model possible and only a little faster than the infantry if that. Also, if you are worried about energy, you should be able to capture large quantities from IRL Tennessee area with a concentrated offensive.

Early armour don't have very good stats but they are very hard to kill because of the softness value. I didn't think you got armour in the Aybss senario :/
