From what I've seen in the streems evry1 is building factorys like crazy... without any economic or strategic considerations.
And a major player has something like 100 200 factorys. And 1 factory has a megar impact.
And the production screen seems so messy and needs so much micro... maybe a shrink in starting factory numbers? So that ther easyer to manage and increse ther importance?

Within a month of release the forum will have threads containing theory, math, and wizardry about optimum factory numbers for the majors. Maybe even sooner for Germany.

As for overwhelming, the UI looks clear and straight forward to me now we are in Vid 5.

And a simple decision more factors now for less arms now but more arms later. In the last vid Daniel was left with huge and crucial infantry weapons deficit so felt he had to spam factories.

A better production screen that can sort the infrastructure types so instead of a long list.
Denkt, moreso than the current ability to toggle various production line-types in the view?

Even with Daniel's like 10/12 Lines in the last WWW, it still seemed pretty understandable when he was toggling the various type filters..

If you play the game in a normal HoI Speed and with pausing the game, you surely will fast get into it.
Just looking some player who hurry trough it is surely not working out for understanding ;).

Only optimal amount is more.

This is what I think I observed.

Civilian Factories are used for trade, consumer goods & all types of buildings.
  • Naval Dockyards are used for building ships.
  • Military Factories are used for everything from planes to rifles and tanks.


Stream 1.
Civilian factories built a lot of factories at the expense of other things. Jacob said, maybe twice that he's sacrificing trade for optimal unit building to get a higher factory count. (he also said that in war civ factories can convert to military)

Stream 5.
Daniel did not have enough factory build capacity to build new factories and repair damage, especially a significant amount of infrastructure. He postponed infrastructure repair for more factories now as he said he thought he was at too much infantry weapons and equipment deficit.

My bet is that there will still be discussion about 'optimal amount'.

At present you can't play at normal Hoi speed. Looks to me Ho4 speed 1 is twice as fast as Hoi3's :-(

Yeah, as long as you can toggle easily it should be fine.

Come to think of it, from the WWW videos it seems like you can turn a filter off/on. Which means that if you have everything selected, you gotta make like 4-5 clicks if you just want to see your naval production. Seems like a hassle. Maybe turn that around and have 1 click on the naval tab just switch you to that tab and a show all button. Or have left-clicking the icon as a tab function (instantly showing you navy, for example), and right-clicking to turn filters on/off.

Won't even be a month, we've got a demo first probably. That'll lay a good foundation for the guides to build on.

Yes they are playing fast because they know in the ins and outs of the game and also they need to play fast to keep it interesting and so they show some progress, No-one wants to see them spending half an hour on the factory screen weighing up their production choices. Its just showing off the game engine, plenty of time to really get into it when the game is released.

Hope they will change that, but if not its surely easy editable in an .ini file.

If it stays as is I can see the new higher speeds being jarring on more than just us. But thanks for reassurance :)
