Producing Heirs Question

I have the opportunity to marry off my male heir to the Queen of Sweden. She is young and has 1 daughter. My Heir holds a couple of counties and a dutchie, so he will not be living in Sweden. If these two have sperate courts will they produce children of their own. It might be fun to create a union of the two countries, but they will need a male heir who inherits both throwns for that to work I am thinking.

I am also a bit worried about his not producing children since he has the genious stat. I would hate to see that die out.

Apparently, in medieval times, you could ship sperm great distances before it spoiled. Maybe it had something to do with Damascus Steel...

No, they should have no troubles producing children.

If you marry your heir to the Queen he will also keep his own court, there's no real problem with that. As long as it is a normal marriage, not a matrilineal one, any children he has will also be of your dynasty so you stand a good chance of inheriting Sweden through your grandson.

If a regular marriage, and the Queen of Sweden has no sons, and the succession system is not elective or absolute cognatic (unlikely unless the Navarra dynasty runs Sweden), your son with her will be the heir to Sweden.

In my experience, it's not uncommon for the AI change inheritance laws to keep king tier titles within the dinasty. Keep an eye out for Sweden inheritance laws, because that could mean trouble for you in the future. In one of my games, as king of England, I married the queen of Scotland. A male heir was produced, I landed him, he grew up and everything seemed all right. When the queen died, tough, he didn't inherited Scotland; his uncle did. Years later, one of my younger sons revolted, I tried to arrest him and he fled to Scotland, to his uncle realm. When the king of England died, Scotland, allied with France and Britanny, invaded, using the younger son claim. A brutal civil war engulfed England, that lasted years, cost me my character and a chunk of Scotland and Ireland - had to give them to the Scots, so they would not destroy me entirely.

They most likely just increased Crown Authority. The AI is pretty unlikely to move away from Primogeniture expect if a faction forces them to do so.

yeah but double check sweden's succession laws it could be elective still anyways since most the scandinavian ones are at game start. Seems rare in my games that they switch to.
