At the beginning of the game, Germany needs a huge amount of divisions, to conquer Austria, Czech, Poland, and keep France at bay. Sadly i cannot usually build more then 3 divisions at a time, because my IC's are only around 27. I've built 5 factories, and am researching industry, how else can i improve IC?

Well, I don't think you need to worry about a military conquest of Austria and Czechoslovakia. Those nations are acquired by events.

aww, that's no fun.

It's historical.

You could invade them, but at the cost of dissent and possible action by the Allies. Also, sometimes they refuse to join you, which may force you to DoW.

hmm, even so, Poland takes a lot of divisions to invade, and i need a lot of divisions on the french border, and more divisons ready to invade belgium and the neatherlands.

Is your economy good? Your economy may be too bad(you don't have enough resources) for you to take advantage of all your IC.

Just be patient. If you follow a historical timeline, Hitler annexes Austria in Mar '38. Britain & France appease Hitler by giving germany the Sudetenland (about 1/3 Czechoslovakia) in Sep '38. Hitler doesn't invade Poland until the end of Aug '39. By this time, Germany has (IRL) 100 inf and 6 arm divisions.

i've just crushed Poland and France as Germany.

I used 34inf and 5 arm to take out poland in 22 days.

I paused to rebuild my divisions and proceeded to flatten France and Belgium by mid-Jan.

I've just had the Vichy France event and i've got ~90 divisions inc 6 armour.

Of course, it's not all rosy. I erm "lost" all 8 of my tac bomber sqns. And all but 4 flottila of the Kriegsmarine are decorating the bottom of the channel*.

*morale of the story-parking your fleet in range of the Royal Navy isn't a good idea. Not when they have carriers!

I agree, 27 IC sounds wayyy to low for an industrial behemoth like Germany. In my current game as Germany, I have over a hundred IC dedicated to production of new divisions alone, so there is definitely something rotten in the state of Germany here. Each IC requires energy, metal and rare materials to operate efficiently, so check your resource levels. If they are in the red, check your possibilities for lucrative trade agreements. Or invade a resource-rich country, you are Germany after all. :p

Trade for needed rare materials while at peace? Spend less IC on non-production activities?

EDIT: Way too late. :D
