Problems with 1.8.1

I've always been a big fan of EUIV, but since these latest two patches there's been a few too many problems with the game. I checked with a friend and he had all the same problems.

- the game now crashes when you alt-tab then click on the icon to get back in
- the game is not incredibly laggy even when starting compared to before (probably due to the massive new amount of nations - this happens in other Paradox games as well)

Thoughts?

No comment on the multiplayer, having only played singleplayer, but I have successfully and repeatedly alt-tabbed with 1.8.1 and I have not experienced any lag (albeit I am one of the lucky ones who didn't experience any lag with Art of War).

Game doesn't crash for me at all by alt tabbing, I've been alt tabbed for hours, tabbing back in, watching Jake's youtube videos, back in to look at something, this is because I am at a time in my game where I've got either 3 more years of truce or I come up with something to do in the meantime, but what? Everything around me has 2x coring cost.

Playing on Linux with two monitors, I see no lag and it works fine to have the game on one monitor while doing stuff on the other or minimizing it.
I'm sure the problems you experience are there (and I don't know about mp), but it seems they vary with the setup. Report the clear bugs like the alt-tab crash in the bug forum and they should get fixed.

Multiplayer is fixed but the alt tab issue persists. It crashes when you click on the icon to go back into the game, not when you just alt tab again.

And the lag of course is still an issue.

I haven't been able to access any mods I've downloaded since the update, making the game I had been playing unplayable. It would have been nice if the update optional since I cant play with what the modders offered. Moral of his story : I buy a game I play it offline & wout any upgrades , then move on to the next game & viola no headaches or unresolved expectations. Thank you I did enjoy what had before.
