Ok, Ive seen some real weird things with these, under certain curcomstances. If the Checs are part of Comitern or Allies, then these events go crazy. I have seen multiple oddities happen, such as slovaka being created and joining Axis, while at the same time Germany leaves Axis and joins allies (not kidding). Try it, and watch the weirdness insue. The checs (and Romanians also) should not agree to loose territory to Germany and Hungry if members of Comitern anyways, since they got USSR backing them up. But the Chec events especially need to be looked at, because they just cant handle it when the checs are not alone diplomatically. Ive seen this happen twice and i had to scrap the games, because things went so weird.

Update

Ok, ive seen this again, this time, with the Cheks as part of the Allies (playing as UK). Germany did Tiso option, and a second time when i restarted the autosave to double check. Both times Slovakia joins the Allies (im guessing cause the Cheks were part of Allies to start with) instead of joining Axis, AND Germany joins the Allies. Since no one believed me last time, i have saved the damb Autosave file that starts 15 days before the end of the Cheks, and if u run it once or twice (depending on Germanys choice), u will see it to. All I need is an email addy.

Czech Arms Industry

While we are on the subject of Czechoslovakia I am a little bemused about what happened to the famed Czech Armaments industry.

Most accounts I've read indicate that the Czech Arms industry was highly developed and producing highly effective materiel in a range of areas.

For example the Bren gun was a Czech design and was adopted by the British as their standard LMG. Yet in HOI the Czechs do not even have Basic Infantry and Battlefield C3I ( tech 1200).

Further Czech tank design was ahead of most of Europe in 1936, with the LT 34, 35 and 38 outclassing German tanks of that era. Yet in HOI they have less armour tech than Poland.

I know that in most situations the Czechs dont get the chance to fight so it probably does not matter too much to the greater scheme of things whether or not their industry is accurately reflectd.

However this is a bug reporting forum , and this definitely bugs me.

I don't know if I would say that Czech tanks outclassed German tanks... I guess a PzKpfw-IIIe and a Skoda-38 (also known as PzKpfw-38(t) ) would have been pretty evenly matched. The Skoda has a slightly better gun, the Panzer has better armour (welded, not riveted like the Skoda) but not enough to protect it from the Skoda's gun.

Basicly, first hit will decide the outcome.

I agree though that the Czechs should be technologically at the same level as most other minors, and ahead of most except Germany and USSR in armour tech.

The german III was about the equivalent to the 38 (t), BUT the 38 (t) was in mainline production over a year before the III. I dont remember the total stats, but most German model tanks in the French campaign were Is, IIs, and the Chek tanks that they aquired when they inhaled the Chek state. That was the point he was making i think. The cheks WERE the most advanced in tank design until they were annexed by Germany, who got a big boost in their tank tech, and the III and IV were heavily influenced by the chek tanks, just as the Panther was heavily influenced by the Russian T34/76.
