Problems Downloading First Time

Can someone help me with the error I'm getting downloading Victoria II? Should I redownload it?

File exception:
Exception in: virtualfilesystem.cpp, line: 662. Description: The system
cannot find the file specified.

It gets to Initializing Maplogic and the game just stops running. Halp.

You have to clear the map cache. Go to Victoria 2/map/cache and delete everything in there but not the folder itself. Then start the game once from the .exe and not Steam. Then you can start from Steam if you want.

Uh, theoretically, if I deleted my Paradox file, how would I get that back? Because I just did that. :unsure:

What exactly did you delete? If you only deleted the content of the cache folder then the game will generate new files on start up.

I found it. Never mind, and thank you for the help. I'll see if the mapcache thing actually works
