While upgreating, installer ask for agreement for actions on system files - treating standard HOI files as system files. Then HOI runs with numerous errors, not upgreated.

Have you tried to uninstall/reinstall a clean 1.00 version? My first try 1.06 over 1.05c french was a total failure. But over clean 1.00 reinstalled, it worked wonders.
