I did not know where to post this question so I will do it here, because I think that it belongs in this forum.

So the problem is that several people, including me, tried to mod the unitnames.csv. We added new unitnames for new classes, i.e. the names of all German infantry divisions to this list. We were regarding the correct form and codes etc.

Now when we play the game with this unitnames.csv units get build twice! They are already in the game from the beginning of the scenario on, with the exactly same name as in the unitnames.csv, but the game still builds them.

I will give an example. The German battleship Bismarck. It already exists in the scenario of 1941, but when I choose to build a new battleship, the game builds the Bismarck again, because it is the first battleship in the unitnames list. BUT the problem does not occur when we use the original unitnames.csv !!

Why? Are there any letters or signs which we are not allowed to use in the unitnames.csv, like ) or ( or ' ??

The names must be perfectly correct in unitnames and the scenarios. This means down to the spaces. I believe that most posted list contained spaces (either single or double) at the end of every line. Edit these out and things should be fine.

Maybe I am miss understanding the problem here but I dont think so ...

I conducted two tests this morning. I first grabbed the first infantry unit from germany in the 1936 scn. "1. Division" was then placed at the very top of unitnames as "GE;0;1. Division". Ran the game and built an infantry unit. Since "1. Division" already existed, it took the next available in the file "1.Infanterie Division"

I then took the first German Tank unit out of unitnames which was "1.Panzer Division" and replaced the "1.Panzerdivision" in the scn. Ran the game, built tanks, and the "2. Panzer Division" was built.

SO naming works for me just fine ...

EDIT: I also just tried reloading from a save game ... no problems there either.
