the devblogs told that recon units does not affect the line of battle or frontline, however, and seen in the streams with the gameplay of the game than the recons vehicles if they did move the frontline, so saw pumas and other recon vehicles move it, it's a bug? We lured? only does not affect the line infantry? If so it is a great fault...

so it may not make secret raids after the line enemy without that is account moving the line... and with only infantry recon I see them little powerful... should affect any recon, recon vehicles including the frontline

in me baso? well this would give more tactical choices as secret incursions behind the lines enemy and not just a pile of units moving the frontline, more variety and tactical wealth is best

the new system of frontline go ahead I love and I hope to continue like that, but as said that the recon not affected and recon vehicles do not affect

I expect a game dev or clarify some more light on this issue because it is a great game and this would remove tactical options

Thanks for reading and sorry for my English, I hope answer these unknowns and reconcideren these suggestion in that case

Frontline reacts with field of view. So if there is no enemy fov to counter yours, recon will push the line.

Which is somewhat authentic, as when you have vision over battlefield and see no enemy, you assume it's yours.

Recon infantry don't push the frontline, armed vehicles do even when they are recon.

This choice was made because some divisions phase A is mostly recon so they wouldn't be able to hold their ground.
That's not a problem because recon vehicles' strength is not their ability to hide but to be a mobile detector which escorts the tanks.

So we get the optics problem from Wargame over to Steel-Division?
I really hoped we could avoid this somehow.

Hi FLX - Wouldn't possible contacts or sound contacts be a affective means of conveying the movement of armored vehicles? Anything to allow for the silly front line to be less relied upon to convey important information. Or alternatively force the enemy to have recon to observe movement of armored cars. A magical red/blue line that follows your flanking units is an aid for new players but is so silly if you know how to use recon.

The truth is I strongly disagree, where there will be the famous ambushes behind the enemy line or secret infiltrations behind the enemy line without the frontline telling my enemy that I have infiltrated that area as in wargame you said that you can continue to do Only with recon infantry or small infantry equipment? No vehicles? Well go disappointment, is a great failure and reduces tactical options, will reduce to just push the line and push, bye tactical options infiltration ...

Or am I wrong developers? I expect answers from a These Questions, It seems like a great game of But small bad decisions and shortening tactics can spoil it

I hope you reply and thank you :)

What problem ?

In Wargame sophisticated tanks with modern optics had worse optics than for example Recon-Militias with Binoculars.
On the frontline reconaissance is done by combat forces, thus they should be able to spot for themselves.
Recon-Forces exist to operate "behind enemy lines" to a certain extent.

The problem in Wargame was for example that major pushes had to be accompanied by a few Recon-Vehicle directly in the mass so that they even had a chance to push properly and not being completely blind.
I hoped we won't see this again in SD'44.

The mobile recon is a good game mechanic which was complicated by the fact that in Wargame: Red Dragon, you could have units that could be 40 years apart in technological development operating side-by-side.

The fact that the timeframe is nuch more compact in SD44, and the fact that we'll probably get no more than 3-4 unique recon units per division means that the Red Dragon problem probably won't carry over to this game.

1. All tanks are pre-1945 here, so everybody's using binoculars anyway, if at all
2. Tanks when fighting buttoned down will have less vision than any random dude on the ground with a pair of binoculars
3. Just because recon vehicles can hold ground doesn't translate to tanks are blind
4. Recon planes are a thing now
5. You can still operate behind lines with recon infantry, but recon vehicles like a Puma were definitely used more often in the front lines than driving around the rear.

A reconnaissance in force would see armored cars deeply embedded in rear area's providing they could push around the defender. Specifically in the early game armored car recon can/should be able to deeply embed in a lightly/un defended flank.

I'm all about tallying % map held to extrapolate a score for a winner. Holding territory and destruction of enemy assets was highly valued in WWII. Please consider a path to ween players from the magical front line that lets you know you need to be screening your flanks better. This is a fantastic tool for beginners and rather onerous looking for old hands to this.
