Hi,
I think I have latest CK2 version - 1.103 (WQLL).
When I try to run new game, I see provinces without real name, instead PROVXXXX is written in its name.
Is this something on my side or is it a known issue?

Thank you in advance for any information how to handle this case :)

Hi Llordus,

Have you tried verifying the integrity of the gamecache if you have the game on steam?

  • Open your Steam games library
  • Right click on "Crusader Kings II" and select "properties"
  • Click on the tab "Local Files"
  • Now click on "Verify integrity of game cache"
  • Wait until this process is finished, if any files are missing/corrupted it will notify you at the end of the process and automatically start with redownloading these files

Also, are you using the Polish language version of the game?

This is very fresh installation of the game. Few weeks ago I have reinstalled whole system, then I have installed steam and few of its games (including CK2).
This in fact is first time I have tried to run CK2 after those operations. Updates policy in steam is set to automated - so I expect I had installed every patch.

I'm not using Polish language, however I have tried both - English and Polish. Result is exactly the same.

Thank you very much for help :)
I checked integrity, tried also issue15 "fix" - and now it seems to be fine.

Strange thing however is, why Polish edition's issues affected my game - I have bought CK 2 in UK - as for a long time I don't want to give any of my money to that crapy "Cenega" publisher in Poland.
There are always some issues with many games, if only published by "Cenega" :(

Hello,
I have the same problem and I can't actually fix it.
I have the Polish version, but on the English one it doesn't work too.
I tried:
Reinstalling - didn't worked
Changing language - didn't worked
Changing in Steam settings the region of downloading to UK - didn't worked
Downloading Cenega's patch - It says that CK2 wasn't detected on my computer

I completly don't know what to do now. Please help if you know what to do.

Hi FranticPlayer,

Before continuing we might want to start with a fresh install to be sure that that won't cause problems.

  • Important: Go to '..\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II\save games\' and copy all the save games you want to keep outside the folder
  • Uninstall Crusader Kings II
For Steam users: uninstall the game from within steam by right clicking on the game and select "Delete content".
  • Go to the folder where you installed Crusader Kings II in, and check if the Crusader Kings II folder is removed. If not, delete the entire folder
For Steam users: Installation folder can be found at: '..\Steam\SteamApps\common\'
  • Go to '..\Documents\Paradox Interactive\' and remove the entire Crusader Kings II folder
  • Reinstall the game, make sure you install the game outside the 'C:\Program Files\' or 'C:\Program Files (x86)\' folders, as it can cause issues with permissions

Check if that solved the problem, if not, please follow the steps of issue #15 in this post: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?585481-Known-Issues-and-Solutions-to-them.
