So, I booted up CK2 today, and started my game that I've been playing for weeks (conquer the world, etc.) when I noticed that there were some new mechanics that seemed to break my game. I never unpaused and immediately hit quit, but it's an Ironman game so I think it forced the save. I went into the Steam forums and found out how to rollback my version, but now it's telling me my Ironman save is incompatible. Help?

PS, I'm on Windows 7.

If saved under the new patch, you probably can't then revert to the previous patch within that same game, no. Does it show as incompatible under 2.1.6, 2.2, or both?

It appears to be working for 2.2 still, although I haven't been playing around in it due to reports that old save games are now breaking completely in 2.2 (so far my game hasn't collapsed, but my gigantic empire was not designed with a vassal limit in mind).

So I went through my computer and it found an old copy of the save file from a windows backup last night, but when I tried to load it up it said BROKEN SAVE instead of UNSUPPORTED. Any ideas? Is there some special way to name or transfer ironman saves?

EDIT: Final update, I fixed it! Apparently you can't rename Ironman saves, as that will break them. So, if anyone else's saves out there get borked by the update, hope and pray that Windows randomly decided to back them up recently :D
