Here EU2.exe checks ... your "honesty" or better your "fair play".
If EU2.exe remarks that you "over-edited" you risk to be back
... in Windows.
And ... please Louis-Philippe don't ask me what's editing TOO MUCH ...
Sure it is. BUT: The land and naval techs are linked to year through the land.csv and naval.csv files resp. This means that if you will face an immense cost to reach lv.11 if you don't mod these files too.Originally posted by Predator I
Hello Havard,
A question :
- is EU2.exe going to accept an edited 1419-scenario, with e. g. a level 10 (ten) for land and naval, to start with ?
Well, to be frank I don't "know" that you will crash when you reload...
A remark :
In fact, Havard, you're right. EU2 will accept "practicly everything"
as long as your scenario is correctly written. But ... once you have
to save your edited scenario and it becomes a saved game.
To keep it short :
Before saving, I created 12 bailiffs - year : 1425, a year without any war and of course no money problems. And you know as well as I do, what is going to happen when I reload that saved file : ... Windows. But when I create only 10 bailiffs, saving and of course reloading, poses no problems at all ...
Later on, in 1625 I can build 4 refineries at the same time, an investment of nearly 50.000d, without any difficulty.
Well - things are connected here. If you change one thing it will have impact on other things. But one thing is for sure: the game does not check if you have edited the files to prevent editing. It checks all files on loading, and as long as the changes are done right no problems will occur
So instead of "over-editing" it would have been better to talk
about : "over-using edited resources creates problems when reloading, and over-using is depend, is influenced, by a time-
scale ". Pfff ...
