Is there any mod that could explain how exactly spammer protection in here works?

Yeah, the activation e-mail needs to be answered first. Simple as that.
If it does not arrive, the person with the issue can contact an admin and we can fix this. Some spammers still slip through, but if we didn't have this we'd be totally flooded.
