Problem with losing convoys in Black Sea.

I'd appreciate if someone could help me. Briefly, I took Sevastapol as Germany and almost immediately I started losing convoys in the Black Sea. I can't send my fleets because they are blocked at the Bosphorus. I only had some destroyers and small subs that spawned at Sevastapol. Is convoy supply automatic? Can I disable it? Is there some bug involved? I am building more convoys.

Quick background in case it helps. I never went out of my way to antagonise allies, and they never cared about Poland. Japan took China and is now fighting Comintern (that's why I DoW Sov in 1940). Allies fighting new Roman Empire to defend Yugoslavia/Romania. This is my first game.

Extra: I've also been losing convoys in the Baltic as they head for Crimea. I realise I haven't been improving infrastructure in Poland or Russia. Would that help my supply problem?

Yes, supply paths through the most efficient route. In this case it's the naval one even if there's a land path available. Fix your infrastructure problems and you should be good.

I actually solved my convoy problem by taking the entire black sea shore and kicking the Soviet navy out, but I appreciate the advice. I'll keep it in mind in future.
